2024 Recruitment and Retention Thread - Rebuild 2: This Time It’ll Work For Sure (Unironically)

Pearce paul could also play ctr and lucas backrow with gags wing. Feel we have a fair bit of versatility.
More Lucas at centre than KPP. Lucas spent more time there KPP more at backrow. But yes get your point. We have decent players available to cover multiple positions.

Moceidreke Is 24 next year and has been playing rugby league his whole life. With his physical attributes it doesn’t fill me with confidence that he hasn’t really cracked first grade yet

If we are talking centre/wing we shouldn't forget Fletcher Myers. Manly poached him from us with a development contract when he was 17 and he played 11 of the first 14 NSW cup games for Manly. I assume they dropped him back to Flegg because he was talking to us, and he had a pretty good game of NSW cup for us before injury.
He is a 20 year old who can play Flegg next year and has been highly rated for years.
In playing style, I'd say a young Dane Gagai type centre or wing.
He is on our development list ahead of Keeley - so they must have plans for him.

Keep forgetting about him as he injured himself 2 weeks into being here and that was season. But yes was very impressed with him. Wicked speed off the mark, could be a dark horse for wing. Is he on development? That’s good. Big off-season could see him upgraded to top 30 and wing position.

I kid you not I’m ashamed I forget about him. He’s my dark horse for 24 season.

Article that says Crossland suffered a knee injury in our last game that means he can't play for 6 weeks, so no rep games.
Also Parr is quoted as saying he has talked to Brailey's manager and he hasn't had an offer from anyone and Parr also says we are keen to keep DSaf.

Was just having a look on a website that had dsaf listed as earning 750k each year and Bailey 550. If correct, it's sort of good that we aren't back-ending deals. 750k is worth a lot less in 2025 than what is was in 2022.

Not going to listen to a Rabbitohs podcast but that’s Jackson Rahme in the photo, was mentioned on here a week or so ago that he was on our radar. 19-year old forward. He’s playing in the State Championship game that’s about to start - #15 for the Rabbits.
Sweet, will keep an eye out! I'm already parked in front of the tv haha.

Nice pick up Newygirl was about t switch over to the Koori knockout, will now watch the State Champ instead. HA

Side note, Surprised Jed Cartright isn't playing for South, wanted to see him play, but guessing this came outside of his contract with Souths? Or injured

He played 15 games of first grade this year which would be too many to qualify to take part in this game.

Have heard some raps on Rahme from Rabbitohs fans but there’s no point waiting around for a shot at the Souths #13 jersey and then they have a pretty big backlog of middles clogging up their top 30 and development list up there, so making the move to us is a smart call. If he kills it in NSW Cup he’ll give us a tough call to make when Elliott comes off contract.

Wasn’t watching that closely but good numbers from Rahme. Off the bench he had 170m, 1 linebreak, 1 linebreak assist & 2 offloads. Saw him have a hand in one of their tries as well with good footwork.

Definitely in the Adam Elliott mould.
