Remember that random player?

Slightly off topic but two players that had memorable debuts that I vividly remembered watching...

Jordan Atkins (Titans), scored four tries on debut which had only been done twice in the sports history (1908 and 1942), he was scoring those freakish tries where most of your body is in the air and out of the field of play before they became a weekly thing.

Stewart Mills (Sharks), had been hyped up a bit as a junior and with Fergusen leaving amongst others he had a pretty memorable debut doing plenty, also remembered watching it.

Neither had length careers but its crazy how quickly these guys are forgotten.

Luke Walsh amazing player, killed it super league, never got his shot over here really think he could of done some amazing things

He did have at least one really good year with Penrith I remember, I think it was the year Lachlan Coote was top try-scorer in the comp, their combo was unstoppable, Walsh would constantly kick to Coote for try after try.

Walsh had a really good career - 120 NRL games and nearly 100 ESL games as well.
His two brothers didn't get much of a run at the Knights - Lamb and Cogger pretty much kept them out of the side I think.
I think he got to play with at least 1 of his brothers at Wests in the last few years.

Listened to a podcast with Zeb Taia recently, and although I’m sad he left and think it was an absolute moronic move from Bennett, he had a great career that ended way better than it would have if he’d stayed with us.

Also what a gun Zeb Taia was aside from Kidley was Smithy's best success with us.
The best buy knights made in the decade Smith, and losing him to Roosters was probably the worst management in the clubs history.
And Not just letting him go, letting him go end of regular season when we were looking great making an finals push, once it was announced it was never the same.

I still remember our team throwing matches to get smithy the arse after that.

Loved Zeb Taia. He’d definitely suit the new rules as well.
DeGois had a great 1st year but wasn’t as good after that. Was happy to lose him to get Bedsy back for his second stint with us.

Memory is going but i liked DeGois but he was injured a lot mainly because he threw his body at whoever he was tackling .

I see Kev Naiqama is finally retiring.
He was a funny player to watch in our lower grades.
He was the most likely player to make a break I've ever seen in under 20s, but he had an amazing ability to bomb a try. He could make a clean break, run 95 metres without a hand being put on him, and drop the ball when he tried to put it down. he found every other way to bomb a certain try as well. I think he topped our tryscoring with about 20, but could easily have scored 40.
He spent 4 or 5 years at the Knights from age 18 but only played a handful of firstgrade games. He was a much better player after he left and has won 2 grandfinals and a challenge cup for Saint Helens, with a chance at a 3rd title before he leaves.
