Your NSW Blues Side For 2012

The rules for any international team should be -

You are only eligible for a country that you have:

* been born in
* lived in for 10 years of your life
* parental descent (not grandparent)

Well I'm all good then, so you all will be seeing me in a sky blue jersey one day! ;)

I actually really agree with these rules only thing is, when you get someone like me that was born and raised in Austtralia, but would rather play for Fiji? So like another Nathan Fien?

Do you have a Fijian parent? That would make you eligible within the rules i said. I didn't include grandparents because that's just starting to get to far out & to the point where we are now.

I really wish the Commission would do something about it. International & Origin eligibility is so wrong right now.

Oh crap, sorry completely miss the parents decent bit my bad. Yes, mums Fijians and dads Moari, would rather play for them over Aus any day of the week!

We need to bring in a pacific origin, or something? And with four nations we could have an:
- Australian team
- New Zealand team
- England team
- Pacific islander team (a team made up of Somoans, Tongans, Fijians, Cooks etc)

Any ideas of how to bring a NZ team or something into origin?

If they were to do that, they'd have to have a combined European team aswell (France, Greece, Wales, Italy Lebanon? etc.)

And NZ should never be in SOO, would make it novelty & lose it's attraction in my opinion, NZ will have an Origin of their own next year, the region of Auckland vs the rest of NZ.

Combining Pacific Islands into one side would kill international league completely.

We need a Pacific Cup every year, with a spot in a Five Nations the next season a carrot. An the same for European sides. The Pacific side that makes the Five Nations would then play the winner of the Pacific Cup after that season's Five Nations concludes, to decide who would take part in next season's tournament. Same for Europe.

Who's better? Glenn Stewart or Feleti Mateo? I've made up a group of my preferred backrowers that should be in the team. I'd probably have the 3 grubby, nigglers starting & pick 3 or 4 out of Sims, T-Rex, Lewis, Mateo, TLL & Stewart to be on the bench.

Ball-Players:
Feleti Mateo
Glenn Stewart

Grubby, nigglers:
Greg Bird
Beau Scott
Anthony Watmough

Impact:
Tom Learoyd-Lahrs
Tariq Sims
Tony Williams

Utilities:
Luke Lewis

I'd go with:

11. Anthony Watmough
12. Greg Bird
13. Glenn Stewart

14. Luke Lewis
15. Tony Williams
16. Tariq Sims/ Trent Merrin
17. TTL

Is it just me or has anyone else been watching any canberra games and thinks TLL is a bit weak sauce, no where near his damaging best.

Im confused how the selectors can think hes going better than snowwy who has been holding our pack up by himself and getting decent meters

I'd have Luke Lewis as our 80 minute ball playing lock. Awesome defender, dangerous with ball in hand and won't shy away from the tough stuff

Feleti Mateo is a great player, but his low work rate would not go well in Origin and I don't think he's tough enough, either.

Glenn Stewart is one of the best backrowers in the game but imo, he struggles to make the step up to SOO.

In my opinion, I'd go with:

11. Anthony Watmough
12. Greg Bird
13. Luke Lewis

14. Beau Scott
15. Tony Williams
16. TLL/Tariq Sims
17. Feleti Mateo/Glenn Stewart

Can't decide on 16 or 17.

I'd be very afraid if I were playing for NSW, after watching the Queensland-bred Australian forward pack tonight. Wow, couldn't believe all of their performances. Taylor, Thaiday, Hannant all played excellently. Made hard runs and hard metres throughout the whole game.

If Tamou is to be picked for NSW, I can say he played well today. Wouldn't mind him to be honest. But this is the first time I've actually seen him play.

Yeah that's what I'd go with..only concern is that TREX wont have played a game in ages.

After watchingboth rep matches, and based on club form, I'd go with something like:

1. Morris
2. Hayne
3. Jennings
4. Morris
5. Uate
6. Carney
7. Pearce (has to work on his defence though)
8. Gallen
9. Buderus
10. Tamou
11. Watmough
12. Bird
13. Lewis

14. Gidley
15. Williams
16. Tariq
17. Stewart

Mullen had a pretty standard game. Needed to be in the game a bit more. Has to really show this week against the Panthers. Hope Gidley can help his cause.
