Hard to judge right now since theres always a few who burst into the origin scene.

But for the core I think NSW should go with

    1. Hayne
    6. Soward
    7. Pearce
    9. Gids

The thing with Origin is that the Media shapes what team runs on IMO. And Gids didnt get much credit for what he did so i dont think he'll get a starting spot although he definetly deserves one.

    8 Tolman
    9 Gidley
    10 Snowden
    11 Learoyd-Lahrs
    12 Watmough

    1. Coote - basically, the best FB at the moment, commited, very sound game, and reads plays well. Be a great asset to the team.
    2. Morris- just for his finishing skills and speed, didnt get enough good ball in this years series.
    3. Jennings- same again really, speed and finishing ability, and pretty good defence wise
    4. Idris- his size favours him hear, good to pack a little punch out wide
    5. Gordon- going places fast, good kicker, great winger in all aspects
    6. Bird- more of a second row type, but can help on the kick/pass side aswell, ads a bit of toughness not many other 5/8 could bring
    7. Pearce, didnt do much this year in origin, but obviously, will open up as experience grows
    8. Tolman- tough bugger
    9. Ennis/Farrar, its a toss up, Gidley would go well to start here then start roving after u bring in the utility, but I think a genuine 9 would be best. Discipline is key here, seen as tho this position sees alot of tackles and ball.
    10. Snowden- tough bugger also.
    11. Lewis, a great ball playing second rower
    12. Gallen- the stats dont lie, most hit ups in the league this year, high up in tackles also. Plays the full 80 no sweat, has toned down his 'tude this year too.
    13. Watmough- strong aswell (except against a little fullback on his own line)

    14. Gidley, was so dangerous of the bench this year, its no insult to put him on the bench when its such an important spot to fill.
    15. Leyroyd Lars- not a big fan myself, but hes not afraid to get his hands dirty
    16. Mannah- turning into a great player
    17. Douglas, 114 consecutive games for his club, shows up every week to play.

Even so I think that the team that played wednesday coulda done the series this year, QLD never played brilliant, penalties and turn overs are generally what lose a game for a team, NSW needs to work on discipline big time (yes Ennis im pointing at you) and a little more control, theres no need to offload the ball every hit up. Most mistakes are made from silly passes, a kick out on the full to the winger, or a dropped catch when your trying a play in attack i can live with, but just throwing the ball to noone when your getting tackled is pointless. So many offloads they throw it out the back then the receiver gets tackles behind where it was passed from. No advantage to your team there.

NSW need to pick a 3 game team, whether they get flogged in game 1 or not, just play the same team second time round

Jarryd Hayne being left out? He was back to his best in Game 3.

I agree, it is a bit idiotic with some people leaving Hayne out. He is capable of things and looked the goods on Wednesday. Is a good asset to the team.

Thats what i reckon....thats my opinion is that cool?

Hayne was good, but i can see a few scenarios, 1. he will have a shocking run of form for the next 12 months (continuing what we've seen all this year) 2. He will probably defect to another code within 12 months anyway

Hayne had a few good runs but i have never seen him make a tackle. Seriously don't we want I fullback that will enject himself like Slater does for QLD. If Dugan is playing well next year i reckon his the man to stop QLD.

Alot can change in a year, form, injury, contracts. If I were to base it on the current form then I'd pick the following:

    1. Hayne
    2. Uate
    3. Jennings
    4. Lyon
    5. Morris
    6. Soward/Mullen
    7. Pearce
    8. Snowden
    9. Kurt
    10. Weyman
    11. Watmough
    12. Lewis
    13. Gallen

    14. Mannah
    15. Douglas
    16. Tupou
    17. Bird

This is what makes this thread a bit pointless IMO ... you're right, anything could happen in the next 12 months. Hayne could score 5 tries in every single game he plays between now and then, or he could get dropped back to the NSW Cup!

Jarrod is a superstar. People forget hes still a young bloke. He played very well in game 3 and was out of this world for us on the wing last year. He should be the fullback for 8-10 years...Coote is a young kid doing a good job. Let him keep doing it and see if hes challenging Jarrod in a few years. To knock established blokes out of origin (especially a bloke like Hayne) you should have to smash the door down demanding to be picked to the point its embaressing for the coach and selectors to not pick you.

Coote, Dugan etc are good kids. But they ARE Kids. People always go well what about Fittler etc who came in when they were babies and turned out brilliantly. But you have to remember..there is a reason we remember these names so well and that reason is they are bloody rare! The exception to the rule.

    NSW 2011..

    1 Hayne
    2 Morris
3 Jennings/Gasnier (need to see how Gaz comes back over the coming months)
4 Jennings (if Gaz takes right centre/ J.Morris (if not)
5 Uate (if eligible) / Gordon
    6 Campese
    7 Pearce
    8 Snowen
    9 Farrah
    10 Galloway/ King
    11 Lewis
    12 Gallen ( c )
    13 Bird

    14 Gidley
    15 Leyroyd Lahrs
    16 Mannah
    17 Watmough

New selectors. New full time coach. Players. The whole thing needs to be restructured, if we are to have a chance next year and in the next few years.

I really hope Gus puts his hand up.
