Woman says Ben Te'o assaulted her

The Sydney Morning Herald has a good account of the different stories:

http://m.smh.com.au/rugby-league/le...tories-of-a-fateful-night-20130522-2k1dz.html

She says she wants justice ... um, then why didn't you press charges? That's where she loses all credibility with me. I don't even see why the NRL Integrity Dept is investigating it, to be honest.

Once she decided to go to the media I don't think Dave Smith was left with much choice....if he didn't investigate the NRL would be accused of a cover up I guess...

Geez he Has had a rough start to his tenure as ARLC CEO...

I think the main question arising from this for me is ... is Darius in an "open relationship"?

But how do you know? Whilst she said all Darius did was tell him to stop, he would obviously know what went on whether she's lying or not.

I'm just saying, he is still linked in the saga, because he was there! You can't just remove him from the story because he was there but did nothing wrong from a media point of view.

If you saw this with a title "Woman bashed" without knowing the story or the players involved, what would you think?

You'd think all 3 players had something to do with bashing her and all 3 are a disgrace. There's nothing wrong with Boyd being mentioned in the reports because obviously he was most likely a witness but he shouldn't be in the headlines and his picture shouldn't be all over the media. That's just my opinion though.

Danny wilder was on the radio this morning in brisbane. He said he was at the airport interviewing sydney roosters players when a man came up to him and said I would like to talk to you about what happend to my daughter by some nrl players. The girl didn't want to talk about it the father was ****ed off (as I would be) he also went on to say they were not allowed to air the interview without further proof of what happend. She supplyed a doctors certificate to say that she was punched in the face from the hospital. (which was from that night) and she had phone calls to 000 in her phone, apparently they got the phone records and had recordings. So that makes it a little worse Ithink

Your post makes no sense and is hard to follow the point your getting at.

A doctors certificate states the injuries a dr observes not how they occurred, the dr doesn't know that.

She called 000, so what. You can't make a formal complaint to police when you have been drinking.

I'd have to disagree.

Very unlikely we ever find out how she sustained those injuries.

Unsavory incident in any case.

Yep, chicks deserve to get hit etc.

Your painting a picture inside your head. A poor innocent girl minding her business, and is suddenly dropped by Teo, as Boyd and Norman watch on, haha.

We would be able to find out, if she provided a written statement to police and not withdrew her complaint.

I have to say that if Te'o repeatedly punched her in the head, I'd have expected her to look a lot worse than what she did. There's a lot of things that don't add up with her story, and from the sounds of it she was in a hysterical state to begin with.

If she really wanted and believed she deserved justice then she'd press charges, rather than going for a sympathy vote and five minutes of fame in a trial by media.

All fair points.
Doesn't explain how she ended up like that though.

Nothing stopping Teo giving his side of the story in the media.

That is a good point you make...Ben Te'o weighs 106kg and is around 190cm tall and plays second row...he's a big guy.... if he hit her as much as she says you would expect her to spend at least a week in hospital with alot more damage then she had

Just had a bit of a read of the article in the Australian.

A source close to Te'o claimed Lewis had gone crazy inside Norman's house and had attacked Te'o's face with her stiletto heel.It is believed that he did restrain Lewis by forcing her to the floor after being assaulted himself but has maintained he did not punch her.

Hmm. The truth probably lies somewhere in the middle of the two stories.

And if she was as brutally beaten and knocked out in a pool of blood as she claims, the cops would lay charges without even needing her consent. I have no idea how she got the black eye though, he might've accidentally elbowed her while trying to remove her from the house for all we know. Something obviously did go on but there's more evidence backing Te'o's story. Why is the NRL investigating something the police have already deemed to be nothing.

This all comes down to he said / she said at the moment....

Alot is going to depend on what Darius and Corey say to the investigators and whether their story matches up with either party.....

At this point in time hearing what we have heard I must say that I am leaning towards Ben's side of the story although I am not ready to dismiss the womans allegations entirely yet....

Just have to see what the independent investigators find out....
