Who will Bennett axe, retain & recruit for 2013?

I'm starting to get the feeling that Ethan doesn't rate Mullen? Maybe after another 50 or 60 posts of Mullen hate I'll be absolutely sure.

Its not that i don't rate Mullen he has a lot of talent but he is never consistant with it, but thats not the problem either he just is,nt a general on the field
he does'nt have those leadership qualitys you need in your most important player but hey i don't mind keeping him if we buy a 1/2 back that does have those qualitys .

Yeah? We already have that in Gids! He has the leadership skills, he is one of our main play makers & callers, he is trying to spark something constantly, he just never gives up! And don't say he isn't skillful enough to be our halfback, we have Mullen there for a reason, he is the skillful player that works off the back of Gids' go forward. This year, with Gids in the team we have only lost to St. George Illawarra & Melbourne, even then we gave both teams a good challange. Taking away Melbourne because they are practically unbeatable, we lost 1 game.

The main concern is his injuries, but for now we don't know if they are being caused by him being at halfback or him just having an unlucky patch like every player goes through, Benji or Brent Tate for example. Regardless of what position he is in he will still have to make tackles & run it though, so moving him isn't gonna change much.

It's no coincidence that Mullen's form has deteriorated with Gidley gone.

I agree i have never even mentioned Gids because he is the man on the field and i would never let him go, but i think his problem is tackling forwards too much at half . Wether thats what caused it does'nt really matter point is he does have a weak shoulder now and i think he should go back to f/b to lengthen his career as i think it will be shortened if he stays at half. he can't not throw himself at the forwards thats who he is and how he plays ,put him to f/b Boyd to centre and Buy a top line 1/2 back.

There must be reasons for that.

There is a reason. If you have ever seen him play in NSW cup you would probably be as disinterested as Bennett obviously is, his defence is pretty poor and it just looks effortless at times. He is a great running forward with plenty of options but at the same time he loves making an error. So as far as i'm concerned he doesn't want to play FG at the Knights

Tackling too much? I've seen it all now.

[h=1]Knights, Raiders consider swapping Naiqama and Harrison[/h]
- Possible swap between Wes Naiqama and Bronson Harrison before the June 30 deadline
- Negations with Joel Edwards are on hold
- Richie Faaoso and Evarn Tuimavave WILL NOT be re-signed
- Denies Matt Hilder is on his way out
- Junior Sau won't be leaving mid-season but still likely will leave at season's end

I'd happily start him over Edwards. Though Houston seems to have the right side wrapped up..

If Wayne could get him back to the days when he was a line-breaking machine then he will be an outstanding pick-up. He's had success with mid-season signings Mason & Gagai so fingers crossed.

Well, Harrison was outstanding and really made a name for himself in the 2008 World Cup under Bennett. So if he can get that type of form from him, then it will be a good trade.

To be honest, most players for Naiqama would be a good trade, the way he's gone this year.

Gotta wonder why Canberra signed Harrison to a three year deal last year, coz he wasn't going too flash then, either. At least Naiqama was in form for us last season, which explains that (in hindsight) terrible decision by us.

Would be a great swap for us and hopefully Sau goes to the sharks mid season aswell to free up some cap.

Mate it says tackling FORWARDS to much at half , so you obviously have'nt seen it all as you missed a bit .
Ok so at the moment we need all of our best players not tackling the oppositions forwards so they don't get injured?? We need everyone making an equal contribution to the team, if there was any player whether it be a winger or a prop running at them, it is there ****ing job to tackle them! Gidley doesn't go out of his way to tackle as many people as he can, he is just one of the few people with the hunger to do so. Our team would go on a downwards spiral is your thoughts were to because true.

Gidley dislocated his shoulder tacking Todd Carney, anyway!

Why didn't we recruit Carney, bloody hell.

Remember all the goodie goodies on here complaining that Carney wasn't a nice enough bloke to play for Newcastle. Apparently the criteria to play for the Sharks is being able to play good footy

Latimore is okay, but not much better than Richie tbh. I'd be slightly annoyed if Richies money is used on him

I want Poore! lol.
