Who will Bennett axe, retain & recruit for 2013?

Because a lot of us are sick of him having 2 good games a season, he has'nt lived up to his potential and we're tired of waiting for it to happen .

The most surprising thing is that Kev, Filipo, Tets, Liki and KOD have all been told to look elsewhere, I thought they all would be re-signed without hesitation.

Other then Sims and maybe Vaivai, we don't really have any promising young forwards. Surely Tetevano should at least be re-signed.

BRETT FINCH IS MORE OVERRATED THAN MULLEN

Steven Hawking could play with Cronk, Slater and Smith and look good.

Coz Mullen dominated the Origin he played ... while Finch didn't win one with a few hours preparation ...

I don't think we need Finch instead of Mullen but to compliment him as an experienced half that can play to a game plan and guide the team around the park and let Mullen play what's in front of him while still using his big left boot when needed ;-)

Get off mullens back hes been one of our best players this year. Hes playin in a team with no go forward, poor defence and another half with little experience who isnt offering much. Hes easy our best attacking player in the team and IMO been a standout in defence.

From what I'VE seen, he's had more than two good games this season. In my opinion he opened our season with a bang and when Gids kept getting injured I'm sure that would've put Mullo off game a bit. But I don't think he's been bad this season. I honestly think he's been one of our best along with Bedsy, Mason, McManus and others. This is all my opinion though. I just don't see how you think he hasn't lived up to his potential this year.

Yeah, exactly. It would be quite a good combination, I think.

That does'nt really say very much does it , personally i would like to win a comp and it won't happen with Mullen there .I think young roberts is playing every bit as good as Mullen with a lot less experience and money and he's the rookie its Mullen's job to be running the team around and helping Roberts out .He is useless dead weight get rid off him and buy a good 5/8 to go with Roberts or:
1 Gagai
2 Uate
3 Mckinnon
4 Tahu
5 Mcmanus
6 Boyd
7 Roberts

I feel sorry for Mullen. He shoulders a lot of the blame for any loss yet when he has a blinder and we win he still don't the credit he deserves. Mullen will do me just get a forward pack with some grunt and then see how he goes. Too many people wanting another Joey however freaks don't come along every day.

Mullen has been ordinary in the past few weeks, but he's been pretty good for most of this season. He needs a no.7 that will help organise the team, but he's just not getting that with Roberts. Yes Roberts is only young, but if he's playing halfback, he needs to get his hands on the ball a lot more and take some control.

There's a lot of Knights fans that expect too much from Mullen and they want him to do dominate in every game. I was one of them, too. Now after all these years, I don't think he's that kind of player. We've only had one of those and that goes by the name of Andrew Johns.

Pretty much all the quality 5/8's in the NRL have a good organising halfback to take pressure off them. Foran has DCE, Carney has Robson, Soward has Hornby, Widdop has Cronk, Norman has Wallace, etc

Mullen has some qualities that can make him a very good 5/8 if he has the right halves partner. He has a nice long kicking game with his left boot. He has speed to burn and looks dangerous when he runs with the football. He also has one of the best left-to-right passes in the game.

Roberts going as good as Mullen? Jesus, Roberts has been terrible this year he's not First Grade standard. Mullen has had a much, much better season.

Roberts has never been that good. The NYC side only made the semis last year and he did nothing up in Brisbane.

He has been hyped up by everyone because the player who was playing in the 6/7 at the time was going crap.

It's the same with all the people on here calling for Mata'utia for Boyd and Kevin Naiqama.

Look how well that went!

Roberts has been terrible this year. Mullen was going well when he wasn't trying to run the side - before Gidley's injury.

Aidos, I have to say that if expectations have been too high for Mullen then he only has himself to blame. He talks himself up every year in the media. And he was also the one who wanted to play seven and run the side.

I watched our 2006 final against Manly the other week, and he was making the same mistakes then that he still makes now. Going for a repeat set and kicking the ball hard enough to jettison it to the moon and back. Non-threatening cross field kicks (without the height to pose a problem to the defenders).

Of course, when he sticks to running it he's a decent player, and his defence has come on in leaps and bounds.

I wish Mullen would have been honest and just said "I'm a 5/8 and it's the halfbacks job to help my game and try and organise the team" instead of putting so much responsibility on himself.

I have been to a few home games this season and watched every game we have played at least twice and i don't see Mullen out playing Roberts at all and besides that Mullen should be out playing the rookie ....MULLEN HAS DELIVERED NOTHING IN YEARS...and his exceptional rep career backs that up .....Cherry Evans played for his country in his first year in 1st grade he has allready made Mullen look ordinary Foran too.

I am just over him, he's talented but he is'nt consistantly talented, not like the good halves or 5/8s in the game. Put Cronk , Thurston ,Carney , Benji , Cherry Evans , Foran or even Cameron Smith in Mullens place and i bet we would play heaps better because like Mullen these guys have talent, but THEY know how to direct a team around the paddock Mullen does'nt ..These guys can lift a team when needed Mullen can't .
Buy a good 1/2 and keep Mullen and put Roberts back to reserves but we need to buy a good dominant 1/2 or 5/8 sooner rather than later in my opinion.
I also think Gids should go back to f/b next year just so his career last a bit longer how many times can he do that shoulder and still play, should keep him away from the forwards as much as possible i think and i'm still of the opinion that f/b is his best position .

The 1/2 backs a rookie and isnt that what Mullen gets big bucks for handling pressure and playing well .I bet if you ask Mullen or the coach they would both say its up to Mullen to run the team and teach the rookie and good players in those positions and those situations step up and do it .
I am starting to get sick of hearing excuses for Mullen.

It isn't Mullen's job to be the only player that runs the side, is what I'm getting at. He's not Andrew Johns.

Roberts is new to FG, but he's been picked to do a job and he hasn't helped Mullen at all in terms of organising the side. Mullen definitely has his flaws, I don't doubt that. He is mentally fragile when it comes to big games and his short kicking game is usually ordinary. This is why there needs to be someone to help him so that he can play to his strengths.

Bottom line - if Roberts was doing his job, then I doubt anybody would have reason to question Mullen's form this season.
