Well, after Newcastle's loss to the Cowboys, we probs cannot reach the finals with our injury list. But, there is something we can achieve, Akuila Uate is the leader of the NRL in tries and line breaks.

Exactly what i was thinking. Hopefully he can pass Tahu's record. Hes created tries out of nothing this year,just great to see him mature as a player this year.

Can anyone challenge Uate for Winger of The Year?
To me, noone comes close to what he's done this season. Morris & Tuqiri have been good but they havent been game breakers or as vital to their team's performance as Aku.

I don't think so. Maybe best solo try for the Knights, but not in the NRL.
In my opinion it's tough to top Andrew Johns' try in the 2001 semi against the Roosters, particularly as he was knocked out 20 minutes earlier.
That was the best solo Knights try, I reckon, and it was under ten years ago.

Ahhh that brings back some memories. Gidley would have to claim the Knights best solo try IMO, that try he had out of dummy half against the Panthers in 2008, that was amazing.

Best try in last 10 years? I remember a David Peachey try against the Knights in cronulla, in 2000 or 2001 maybe, caught it of the drop out, then like all Peachey runs, ran left to right, right to left then split the defence like a piece of firewood.
Best try to me this year (with help from poor defence) would be Nate Gardners try against roosters

Vuna scored a great one this year against the Titans.
I remember Owen Craige scoring a brilliant try aswell with a chip and chase.
Gosh I take it back, what about Vuna's try against Wests, round 26 2007?

Probably one of the best tries considering the circumstances to save us from the spoon! Brilliant try. Thinking of moments like that as well as Coopers try against the cowboys off the drop out make me so annoyed he's leaving us.
I wasnt a huge fan of Uate last year no doubting his brilliance but he got caught out positionally a fair bit and had a tendancy of running completely across the field. But after watching him this year his speed, strentgh and athletasisim he is by far the winger of the year. I dont think his try vs Roosters was the best solo try but i was one of the most bizarre and unexpected 4 pointer ever seen, they say Brett Morris is the best finisher well i doubt he would have finished that one.
