Tyson Frizell

If it eventuates, hopefully Pearce and Ponga can get him hitting holes instead of brick walls

Can't see us re signing Guerra unless he wants to take a big paycut to keep playing next year.
Moga won't be re signed.
Eseese might have to take a paycut or be replaced by lower priced guys like Saulo and Croker.
Watson is an interesting 1. He would be on big money for his next contract, and the coach will have to decide if the money could be better spent on a forward like Eseese.

I'd suggest Guerra/Moga/Ese all gone to make way for Friz and we'll see the kids take the place in the top squad, and you know what your Psaulo's/Bests/Hoys/ will probably add better value.

Friz is what he is and shouldn't be changed, he'll hit the middle at a million miles an hour and create space either side.

His 28 going on 29? Don't try to rewrite the playbook for mine.

I get the feeling he could double his try tally off the back of PnP in a few short years

Unless the comp gets under way sooner than later, all contracts could be up for grabs, this could be one a mess if the cap gets changed.

When the cap gets reduced, not if but when, all clubs are in the same boat!
So all clubs will have to correct player salaries in accordance with the new cap.
There may be some exceptions where clubs can offer a single player a bit more money, but in general the players will have to cop it sweet!
The power base has shifted and unfortunately most players are in for a reality check, this needs to happen to save the game!
I won't even comment on the NRL's mismanagement of money and top heavy business structure....... hang on , yes I will!
It is either complete incompetence or even worse corruption, they have robbed grass roots football for years, all for their own gain.
Grant the idiot started this fiasco and the Covid 19 pandemic has only exposed to us, the fans, how financially vulnerable the NRL have become due to their own mismanagement!
Surely V'Landys has to get rid of Greenburg???
Most of the people in Head Office add little or no value to the game, the Gravy Train has officially been decommissioned!
Every cloud has a silver lining!

Get rid of Guerra , Moga and King and that pays for Frizell and keep Ese,ese and Jacob.

Their contracts have to be paid unless agreed to by both parties there is a reason why multiple clubs agree to pay for players to play for another club. Club just can't say bye bye to them.

Spot on longprong. If the bucks aren't there, wages must drop and with the media screaming for 'new' (read cheaper) contracts the million dollar players are a thing of the past.

The RLPA pushed big time for the players to become partners of the game. So this means the salary cap fluctuates in accordance with the games revenue. They only expected it to go up though.
So say if the cap goes down 30% next year, I imagine all contracts would go down 30%.

NRL talking about paying every player 100k flat fee for 2021 to save the league.

Not sure how the players association will like that, whilst the execs are only taking a 25% pay cut.

And reportedly the league runs with 400 admin staff. Premier league does it with about 120 or so. Talk about bloated administration.

They can’t do that, it’s ridiculous. The higher earners obviously have higher bills etc. Even if you are on 200k a year and having it slashed, it’s just not possible for most people to accept such a big pay cut.
