Not sure everyone is happy with it, but that’s their contract, you can’t blame them for accepting an offer that was good for them.Imagine letting Frizell go and then JSaf gets injured
Meanwhile everyone's all happy that McCarthy and Schiller are soaking up 500k to play Cup
Clubs are commercial entities, but players aren't? And I thought Pauline/Gina hated Australian workers.Sticking to your contract is your right as a player. And its also pretty hard to blame a young guy for clinging on for dear life. But if the club has asked you to leave because your contract is not in the best interests of the club, you can choose to stay, but your presence is thereafter counter productive to the competitive aims of the club.

Pretty sure it was Adam Doyle or Clint Zammit who gave Schiller and McCarthy their current deals.Schiller/McCarthy/whoever well within their rights to stick around if they want, any blame should be directed at those who signed them. Player option for McCarthy why?
Friz also completely justified in trying to get what he thinks what he's worth, if that's somewhere else I'll be disappointed.
The Niukore signing is puzzling, he's looked terrible this season. Friz far and away stronger.
Players aren't charities either, to be fair. Let's hope that in deciding to stay, it lights a fire for them and they prove the club wrong, justifying their spot in the team. The club isnt a charity. Its a competitive sporting organisation that exists to win, its primary objective, to which everything else subordinates, is to win. It doesnt exist to provide employment to its staff.

So much so that we may now lose Frizell for next year.
The Knights have sucked for 20 years. We are building something delicate and fleeting. While players are legally entitled to put themselves before the club, its also unreasonable to expect those players to be blameless for the consequences of their self interest
Clubs and players may both be fairly described as 'commercial entities'Clubs are commercial entities, but players aren't? And I thought Pauline/Gina hated Australian workers.
Such a bad take, and it doesn't even make sense... What are players expected to do, step aside to unemployment because the club (you) would prefer to keep Friz...a veteran bench player who could be a help next season, but also could be blocking a younger player with a longer-term future....solid reasoning...lol.
OK then, by that token, the next time a player wants out because some manager, probably named Moses, has found him a higher-paying deal elsewhere, that should be OK too, right?
PS. Nothing wrong with mutually agreed releases/trades, but being down on Schiller because he didn't like the Dragons' offer or possibly didn't want to play for Flanagan seems a tad unfair.
Useless ****s **** off and play Cup elsewhere.
That de-escalated quickly.Life goes on.
