The Warriors performed really well with him at halfback this year, much better than they did with Johnson.

I’m surprised he seems to be available, I would have been certain the Warriors would see him and CHT as their long term halves.
Luke Metcalf is a very good player from what I've seen.
Hed definitely be in their long term plans.
If not he can come to the knights

TMM is sneaky old. 29. That’s the only reason I can think of.

I guess they also don’t have one of the best players in the comp hitting his prime on their books. They’re looking to find their new “guy” now Shaun Johnson is gone, and there’s maybe not a a lot of time pressure on that given how young their spine options are.

Rugby league recruitment guys can be a bit weird though. If TMM was coming off the same season but was a 200+ game player, all of a sudden he’s getting offers of $800K+ because he’s an “experienced half”. TMM gets the journeyman tag after playing 93 games over his time in footy, even though the reason he’s missed so much footy was a circumstance outside his control.

After what happened with his brain injury do you think he’d have an appetite to leave NZ? I’ve always been a huge TTM fan he has always had huge potential.
He initially came back with Brisbane, so I'm sure he'd be open to it.

Te Maire isn't the superstar he was touted to be a youngster but was the best performing 7 for the Wahs in the 2024 season.

Don't hate the idea of us signing him, he'll be our best 7 immediately. Hopefully O'Sullivan has signed a talented young 7 that we don't know about. I have noticed about O'Sullivan he's interested in young NZ talent signed talented and highly regarded 1st XV players eg Val Te Whare, Rocco Berry, Eli Katoa.

Also at Dolphins and Warriors sign several halves options which I think he'll do here with Gamble, Cogger, potentially TMM and a younger talented option.

He also said on the Dolphins documentary before 2023 he'd rather miss someone than sign the wrong player and set the club back.

Need to sign a top 7 with next 5 or so years in mind, Te Marie might be good but does he solve our problem long term, still have Cogger, hopefully not Hastings, on our books is Te Marie that much better for what we need not just now but years in future

Halves for the moment next year.

Hastings
Cogger
Gamble
Crosslands
Pryce

Who the heck did we end up rubbish there and our forwards are plod as well especially at prop.

Telegraph reporting Trindall has signed a new 3-year deal with the Sharks. Article mentions the Knights as one of the teams "linked" to him.

Just think we want to avoid having 6 6/10 halves on the books for 500k each. Much better to stick with someone like cogger and only sign someone new if it is a significant upgrade imo

Nice, isn't it, when a player repays their club like that. One day I'm sure it'll happen for us.

It's something players do when they're at a regular top 4 club (cause who doesn't like winning).

Going into 2025 with the worst halves pairing in the comp doesn't get you fired up? Actually, the Dragons probably save us, let's say second worst.

Totes, I am sick of project halves. Established halves aside from broken humans like Hunt though are sadly non existent on the market, unless bumping up offer from existing club.

Regular top 4 squad is a stretch for the Sharks. They're consistent chokers anyway.
