Pezet seems to be well on the road to recovery

I'm still all in for Jonah pezer next year! But damn trindal has got the goods after last night. Didn't realize he was that good, I think he might have one of the best kicking games after clearly and Reynolds. Really unlocks players around him

Yeah I think Fitz is a great coach but I don’t understand what he’s doing with his spine. Tricky to me looks better a bit closer to the ruck and steering the side around - an out and out #7 - and Nicho looks better being brought onto the ball with time and space - he’s a good 6 or 1 but I still don’t rate him as a #7.

For whatever reason they’re still trying to force Nicho as the halfback, even though he won the Dally M playing as a fake #7 (if you go back and watch those games, Moylan is the one at first receiver most of the time & seems to do most of the talking) and they have a terrific halfback right there. Trying to justify the pay packet?

You have to wonder if he's had one of those really expensive operations in the US to be running and changing directions and kicking already.

And yeah getting Jonah back is still my preference (and the smart option for the Knights) but if the club decided to go all in on a more experienced 7 and shell out whatever it takes to get them, Tricky is the one for me. Ahead of Walker, ahead of Hunt.

A lot of chat around Braydon Trindall now that his great regular season form has carried over to playing very, very well in a big finals game. I thought there'd be some teams in for him anyway but I reckon it's probably correct that being clearly the best on ground in a finals win, following on from a game where his team were very poor but he played really well vs the Storm, has massively driven his value up.

I reckon he's gone from a guy who'd be getting offers of around $6-800K a year to change clubs to one where multiple clubs will legitimately chase him for $900K/season and maybe more.

Very good news for us I think - O'Sullivan isn't going to overreact to good form. If he's decided on Pezet he's going to stick with that.

When you add in the smoke around Ben Hunt and Sam Walker testing the market (he'll get offers of over a million a year, easy), there's no chance of Jonah being anything more than the fourth most sought after player IMO.

I was all for going after Trindall when we were chasing Brooks and ended up with Hastings. At that point he had done a really good job as a young half in Morris' final year and Hynes was being signed as a marquee. I thought we could get him as a cheaper ready made first grade half. As Harv says, now you are looking at marquee money for him. Good point that it potentially lessens Pezets stocks if he is our biggest target.

Yeah don’t get me wrong, if the club wanted Tricky, and were the highest bidder to get him, I’d be stoked - I do reckon he’s going to have a good run as a top 5 halfback in the comp or close to it in his prime (it will help that guys like DCE will retire as he hits his prime and certain other really good #7’s will be past theirs) and that’s a million dollar player in the current market all day. Also said prime will line up with Kalyn’s pretty well as he’s almost exactly one year KP’s junior.

But there’d be a very good chance of not getting him if we did chase him, and he’s not quite as appealing as a marquee signing as he was as a guy you might have gotten for $4-500K before he massively outplayed the value of that contract.

Realised Toby Sexton should be an option - Bulldogs have highly touted junior half Mitchell Woods locked up till 2027 and there’s smoke around them pursuing Ben Hunt - so I’ve added him.

He’s not exciting but I think he proved this year that he has what it takes to have a long NRL career as a halfback. He’s uncannily like Chad Townsend but with a much better kicking game (still needs to develop Chad’s delusional self-confidence, which is likely a big part of what’s kept him in the game). Chad may yet reach 300 games.

Ben Hunt officially free from the Dragons’ disgraceful treatment and his disgraced cheating coach in Flanagan that thinks his son is immune to criticism.
Not expecting the Knights to take him whatsoever but whoever does closes the door on both competition for other halfbacks and the possibility someone losing their spot to him might be looking elsewhere.
