Never compared them to us, of course they've had more success. I guess this year they finally did something with the top 4 finish and and beat the cowboys. Looked way outclassed in the other games though.

Am I the only person that still believes in Hastings??
He was incredible in reserve grade.
I've never seen stats like it.
I'd say it's up to him in pre-season to make peace with everyone if he is still around.
He is clearly in our best 17 players, whether at half, hooker or lock.

If the report of the leadership group telling the coach they don't want to play with him is true then it's hard to see things getting back to amicable. Attitude/personality has always been his biggest issue but the leg injuries looked like they had caught up to him as well last season.

Presumably Gamble and Cogger will start, and that's the worst first choice halves pairing in the comp so whoever is backing them up will probably get multiple chances throughout the season. Hopefully Pryce has a big pre-season because he's still the highest ceiling option but won't be holding my breath. TMM would be a marginal upgrade but wouldn't make me any more optimistic about the teams chances.

Can only hope someone is signed for 2026 who can give some sort of hope looking forward because I don't think the halves situation will be much better than what we saw this year. As of now it's the exact same 4 players with the same issues.

Hold your horses on this one. You haven’t seen Lewis Dodd stink it up yet.

Cronk, an absolute champion halfback, put it best in regards to our halves conundrum. A lot of responsibility needs to be put on the players, no one stood up and grabbed the 7 jersey. There's a reason for the chopping and changing - someone needed to take their opportunity. Can blame the coach all you want, but the jersey was there for the taking. This talk by some media saying that players were playing scared and afraid to lose their jersey is a bit much.

Jacko himself talked about how simple the system is on Knights HQ podcast. Cogs played well but didn’t do anything that outrageous to demand his jersey in the end.

100%. There were also a few very lazy efforts defensively from Cogs when he was given a chance in the early parts of the year. A few times he would just let players stroll on his outside, and there was that play where he just watched the ball on the ground and gave up. The only half that probably deserves some leeway is Gamble, who did start slowly, but was a consistent performer last season and deserved first short, and he was injured for a majority of the season.

Pezet, I almost forgot about him. I suppose everything we are saying about Leo and the fact he hasn't resigned yet could be transferred to Jonah. Let's hope we get/keep one of the two at least
