i kno Kurt at lock might sound a bit crazy but give him a go at it i think it will work

What's more crazy is Buderus is your hooker captain and he hasn't even signed with us yet. He may not sign with us either. Regardless Gidley is and should be our captain.

Some other crazy stuff:

- You've left out Tuimavave who's been good for us and is hands down better then Tolar.

- You've left out Hilder who should probably be one of the first players picked regardless of position.

- You've named two 80 minute backrowers on the bench in Houston and Taia.

- You've named an outside back on the bench in Naiqama. Wasted bench spot IMO.

- You've only named one prop on the bench.

And he's dropped McManus, i don't see a reason for Jimmy to be dropped from the team.

He's got Mata'utia as one of his favorite players so figured it wasn't even worth touching on as it's pretty obvious why he's named him there.

I agree McManus shouldn't be dropped from the team but I like Mata'utia and he's looked the goods in FG so far.

because if you watch the games propaly Mcmanus has been letting tries in from cross field bombs. teams kno to kick to him because they kno he cant jump and catch to well. and Mata'utia can catch heeps better

Houston can replace Edwards for starters. There is no way Houston should be anyway apart from starting 2nd rower.

Can almost guarentee not one team in this thread will be the one that runs out in round 1.

Considering almost every combination probable has been listed its highly likely one person here has got the winning lottery ticket.

I love Eddy, but he's not better then Taia or Houston. I would move Costigan to prop and bring Taia and Housron into the starting backrow with Edwards at lock.

Can't wait to see a fit and healthy Taia next year. I still see him as our best backrower.

My turn:

1. Boyd
2. McManus
3. Sau
4. Wes
5. Uate
6. Gidley/Stig
7. Mullen
8. Snowden
9. Buderus/Gidley
10. Fa'aoso
11. Taia
12. Costigan
13. Houston

14. Hilder
15. Stig/Tahu
16. Tuimavave
17. Edwards

Mata'utia has looked the goods in his limited time in FG and McManus' play has probably dropped off a bit from his standards, but Mata'utia is still somewhat unproven and McManus is generally safe as houses.

He's had some blunders in defence by pushing in and allowing the overlap and hasn't necessarily been great in the air under pressure kicks, but it's still a very big call to drop McManus for Mata'utia.

I really like Mata'utia and if Bennett started the season with him on the wing over McManus I wouldn't complain. I'd probably question it but I wouldn't complain. Not because I think he's the better player but because I think he's a good up and coming player with a bright future. That and the fact I trust Bennett. Really can't see it happening though.

In the number 11 and 12 jumpers. I don't see Edwards as a second rower because I don't think he's attacking enough to be playing on the fringes, not over Houston or Taia anyway. I think Edwards is strictly a lock. He can play the middle third of the field and make his mark on the game with his devastating defence. I also don't see him as a front rower as his go forward's somewhat lacking IMO. At lock he wouldn't have the responsibility to set the platform and provide great go forward like the front rowers do, he could just play his own game and work off the back of it. His whole game is great defence and that's ideal for a lock.

- hilder can replace naiqama

Hilder definately needs to be in the team somewhere, whether it's off the bench or starting lock. However I think Naiqama deserves to be in the team, preferably starting centre IMO. He's playing great footy atm and is in career best form this season.

- tuimavave can replace tolar

I definately think that's the right call. Tuimavave > Tolar hands down IMO. It's not very good for the front row rotation to only have one front rower on the bench though. Teams these days always roll with two on the bench. It's pretty much a necessity to keep up the intensity and the go forward. That's why I'd start with Costigan up front alongside Snowden. He played great guns there under Bennett and that would allow us to have two really good front rowers off the bench in Fa'aoso and Tuimavave. Fa'aoso is the ideal bench front rower IMO. Really sparks the team and provides great impact.

In blue.

Stig to come on after 20, Gids to hooker, Hilder to lock and Costigan into prop rotation.

Where's Edwards playing off the bench?

Also with Costigan moving into the prop rotation that makes 5 props. Where are they all getting their minutes?

I'd personally prefer to have Nev playing in the second row because i think his attack is really underated and he has alot more value then just pounding it up. Id go with:

8. kafusi
10. Snowden
11. Houston
12. Costigan
13. Hilder

bench
14.
15. Edwards
16. Faas
17. Tui.

the reason i have Kaufusi starting is because i think he will benefit under WB. I also think Tui and Faas are a great compliment to eachother and form a really good prop pairing. Im abit unsure of how zeb will comeback so i will wait and see before i find a place for him.

The backs and spine i wont go into yet but im not really a fan of having stig on the bench and doing the whole shuffle affect. Its too confusing for the side i think wont really work IMO.

Taia? He's our best back rower when fit.

Realistically I don't see us getting Bird for next year. Apart from Bird, if all possible signings e.g, Cuthbertson, Watts go ahead and we have their services for 2012, i'd like to see a side like this:

1. Boyd
2. Mcmanus
3. Sau/Tahu
4. Naiqama
5. Uate
6. Mullen
7. Gidley (C)
8. Snowden
9. Hilder
10. Fa'aoso
11. Costigan
12. Taia
13. Houston

14. Watts
15. Kaufusi
16. Edwards
17. Cuthbertson

18. Stig

If the possible signings don't turn out:

1. Boyd
2. Mcmanus
3. Sau/Tahu
4. Naiqama
5. Uate
6. Mullen
7. Stig
8. Snowden
9. Gidley (C)
10. Fa'aoso
11. Taia
12. Costigan
13. Houston

14. Hilder
15. Kaufusi
16. Edwards
17. Southern

Since when has Watts been a possible signing?

So that makes him a possible signing then? Buderus is a possible signing as well, only with actual evidence supporting the case and you have Watts in your team over Buderus?

That would be my preferable team, Buderus will cost a bit with the transfer fee coming under the cap, I said I would prefer us sign Watts and Stig rather than sign a 35 year old Buderus from Super League. Much rather him take up a coaching role, if we cant get Watts have him in the playing roster.

By the way, it was reported in the media we we're interested in him or something.
