Mate Cowboys were tough and i think Knights showed the comp how tough and gritty they are. Dont think any team would want to get in that "fight in the trenches" against us
Defence wins games and finals is all about defence and resilience.
 
Lolo played 30mins for 54m.
Josh King 18mins 74m.

We defended very well. Only 2 Cowgirl forwards made over 100m. Molo & Moose.
 
Very ugly win, as usual most 50/50 calls went against us. As usual we cop a season ending injury early on.

I’ve said all season long the attack stinks. Ponga seems like he’s been informed to play mostly right side. Then soon as he sweeps left he throws tuala a bullet for some meat. Either we are trying to keep our best weapon (left side sweep to ponga) quiet til finals or AOB wants to develop kp into an all round fullback who can play both sides. Was a small sign of development with the hunt try. Ponga went with the end over end pass instead of trying to throw a spiral Bullet which went forward a few times last week.

defense and a never give in attitude wins games and we had plenty of that. Couldn’t be more proud of the effort and desire to never stop turning up for each other.

theres 3 or 4 blokes who are turning into potential origin players in the next year or two.
Jacob saifiti has been huge, for a while dan was the stronger more aggressive bro, that’s on par now
Tuala has been in our top 3/4 players this season and if anyone can find a better centre running around that can represent queersland I’m interested
Mann will surely play 14 also for queersland, can fill in anywhere on the field and do it well. Been our best this year along with this next bloke
Barnett, what a absolute stud. Skillful and tough as nails and has really reigned in that silly aggression and drop balls in his game.

Stoked to be seeing this much progression in what were perceived as average first graders at beginning of the year. AOB deserves plenty of credit for that. Now just fix our bloody attack

We need Frizell desperately next year. Fitzy has been nowhere near his form of the last couple of years. Guerra just may have another year in him but far better off the bench.
 
I've got no problem with Ponga attacking right, he's just as good right as he is left. I'm not sure if it's everyone around him on the right who haven't clicked, but they always seem to be caught doing nothing.
I can't blame them though, we haven't had a decent right side attack since Mullen and Uate were in form so they probably don't expect the ball to come their way.
 
Am happy with Ponga playing right and left, was a poor game but from attack point it was Ponga on the right giving Hunt the try then on the left for Tuala, nothing wrong with that, mixing it puts the defence in doubt. Forwards and defence is going good just need to fix the attack, seems a bit disjointed and lost
 
When we played the tigers we had depth. Very similar plays but spread back over 20m not all standing within 5m of the play the ball.

Depth to shapes makes opportunity.

First thing Joey mentioned in his wrap up of the game was the wind.
We haven't mentioned it much, if at all, but the strong, gusty wind was a big factor in breaking down our attack and also a big factor in the Cowboys not being able to put anything together. In fact, the only time the Cowboys looked threatening at all was when the wind made the ball do something unexpected and they got a lucky bounce.
Then again, if Joey were playing, he'd be putting up those swirling bombs of his and have Drinkwater and the hammer looking like the Keystone cops running around trying to catch them.
 
Watched the replay and it wasn’t nearly as bad as I first thought. On another day we score 3 or 4 more tries and win by plenty. Forwards were great.

Mozz, definitely the ugliest 2 points ever, so hard to watch.

Defense wins games - thank God, cause that is all we had .

I Know our attack was severely disrupted with the Injuries and you can guarantee alot of work went in last week to make Green the focus but honestly we look devoid of initiative and direction, if Pearce was a great organising Half back as the media would have us believe, we should be seeing alot more bodies in motion around the ball , everyone seems to be waiting before advancing or offering any hole running.

I haven't seen enough of Crossland at 5/8 to have an opinion , but for all our sakes I hope he trains the house down and learns his role within this team quickly as Mann is a much better Nine than Six.

Crossman will have to learn to be the dominate half with regards to directing play and reading the opposition cause Pearce appears to be more reactionary than visionary.

Good news is we are Finals Bound.
