Him being out for the year is probably a good thing. No need to put him through carrying the pack for another few games when the seasons done. Get him rested and ready for next year.

The way I read that game was Pearce was trying to find too much for himself rather then the team. It took a Barnett determined run to break their line.

There didn't look to be a game plan at all rather then run up 10,8,13, Mann/pearce get tackled with the ball. Or ponga running around with everyone staring at him. No shapes were thrown, we looked flat or when we had depth it went out the back to a dead runner.

He might want to start caring about it. It is deplorable.

Surely coaches have a fair idea, and can draw on resources around how to exploit defences, plays to put on, structure to set to run certain attacking options with a goal to isolate a particular player, exploit some weakness. OB was the attacking coach at the Storm yeah?

We get ourselves down to their 20 and look like we have no idea what to do next. Run around just shovelling the ball right or left and unless Ponga gets it, we look lost. Then we waste 2-3 tackles per set turning a forward back in to the middle. Last tackle and again, we look like we have no plan. No structure to achieve a set goal, just throw it to Pearce and see what he comes up with. The first option should be to try to get a repeat set. The last option should be to just run a player at the D line and hope. In between, should be to exploit something the half sees, if nothing on repeat set attempt.

I get the not moving Ponga, but we have to try something. Mann at 5/8 has shown it just does not work. Hoy apparently isn't the answer, is Crossland? How about Lino though his cards appear marked. Defensive issues last year but so did the whole team. I wonder how he would go with the new Defensive resolve the team has been able to manage this year? He can goal kick well at least and is a genuine playmaker.
 
When questioned about Ponga to 5/8, O'Brien said It's too late in the season, we get a lot out of him at fullback and they'd have to change too much. He didn't say "that is a bad idea" or "that wouldn't work" - just basically "not now".
It actually sounded like he'd thought about it.

We wouldn't want to upset our potent attack.
 
A win is a win, let's not forget we were once again down to 2 on the bench and fitz playing in the centres.
 
I don't get how we can be 15 rounds in and not have tried one of our other halves. What are they doing in training to show they aren't worthy?
Putting them on the bench and telling them to come on with 10-20 minutes left and expecting them to make an impact isn't giving them a fair go.
 
Could we alter our bench, say 14 Randall, 15 Hoy, 16 Ese’ese and 17 JSaf or Saulo depending on Dan, that would depend on Crossland/Mann at 6 & 9
 
I really want Lino to at least get a run. Hes probably worth at least 6pts extra a game just from his goal kicking
 
I’m just stoked that the odds are tightening on a QLD team getting the spoon. Cowgirls defo worthy of it. We were god awful but they outclassed us in that department. Morgan is bang average, Drinkwater and Hampton in the same class (liabilities) and the forwards are pussies. Did the Hammer play?? Need the Doggies to aim up and get some wins so the Donks and the Girlies can fight it out for that dreaded spoon :hello::hello::hello:

I trust that Adam has a fair idea, and don't really care if he chooses to not share it with the media during a press conference.

Pretty sure he was the attack coach at the Roosters, not the Storm.
