ROUND 1 - Knights V Warriors - Friday 3 March, 6:00pm - Sky Stadium, Wellington

Brailey doesn't offer a threat from dummy half either too slow...

IMO we still need a 9 and 7...

Backs need to be replaced as well

Edge forwards...

When Fitz was your best forward something is up
I don’t rate Brailey either. Passes ok but offers little in creativity or engaging markers. I have no idea why we have the likes of Ponga bud now Miller and he is t bringing them inside or outside off him regularly engaging the line and finding holes for 2rf

Just got home from the game, that was absolutely abysmal and depressing to watch. At least the crowd was really good and a lot of fun, had a lot of good natured comments about my Knights top, and a lot of pitch invaders near the end was a laugh.

Attack was shocking, same as ever ... just spread it wide, no inside angles or anything ... and that's usually done after one or two settlers, as well. Then the most low percentage play on the last to turn the ball over easily, rather than going for a repeat set. General kicking was really poor. A lot of dumb errors made. Looked so slow and a million miles from being a top team. Not sure what they did over the off-season, but we really are at square one.

Warriors didn't look that great either, but they were all over us. Always knew they'd be tough to beat at home and with a full off-season at home and a home season ahead ... dammit, why did I tip us in the tipping comp! 🤣

Sad thing is it was so obvious the Warriors were all over us after 20 minutes and I knew we were no show, even when we got ahead 12-10. :(

Frustrating game to watch for a Knights supporter. Started off well in the first 15 minutes but then lost their way, both the forwards and outside backs not getting good yardage through the middle and the Warriors in turn starting their sets in good field position and making easy metres through the middle.

Kicking game was horrible all game and quite often looking lost in attack on the Warriors goal line.

Positives were you scrambled well enough to remain in the game at half time, conceding 6 line breaks and only down by 4 at halftime is something to take back to Newcastle, also not conceding while a man down shows they were committed for the most part in defence.

dsaf 118m jsaf 89 , not great is it. dsaf had most post contact for the game though. i actually thought they were effective in defense , minus the barnett break. especially there 2nd spell in the 2nd half, our line speed as whole went up a gear when they came back on.
It’s just one out though. There is zero point in good ball just playing these guys one out. There is no threat. They need to learn to ball play when necessary or to hit and spin and occasionally find a good offload. They always make a simple mistake each game either dropped ball or bad missed tackle.

Well Panthers looked as bad us as tonight 🙄

C'mon don't you know front rowers just shouldn't pass! AOB had been to 4 grand finals mate. You can't beat that for experience. You've really got took at the top teams and go hmmm ok both frf and the lock ball play to an extent. Not Newcastle.

Thankyou for being there to support the lads James!

I think both Safs struggle to make a top 8 teams starting side. Definitely not a top 4 team. I can’t blame them I really struggle to remember in the last 10 years a junior we’ve developed in our club (not one that’s left) that is topline. We just don’t have the systems in place for them apparently.

They have both had very good moments at Origin . Just struggle to deliver for us . Too comfortable ? Who knows

Different game. They had the luxury of just hitting it hard one out in SOO. Had other forwards ball playing around them. Unless they’re making 150m a game for us doing that they are going to inaffective.

Exactly , funny thing people perception .Sitting in the top of AJ stand . Coming out of our own end . Everyone always yelling at the Safs to give Klemmer a hand 😀

Yeah and both used more as impact players for short minutes at Origin level too. Unfortunately we pay Daniel in particular like he’s James Fisher-Harris.

It’s crazy we’ve shipped off Klemperer and Pearce in 2 years and they were both literally our best players. Hurts my head.

We pay him like he is. But…. He only is when he wants to half of the year. If he’s fit. I couldn’t say he been our best player over 26 games a year. Can you?
I don’t, as a general rule, judge players based on how often they’re injured or concussed.

Pearce had two very long term injuries when he was with us and that’s irrelevant to my opinion of him.

Go back and watch the final vs Parra in 2021 and tell me who you think our best player is.

But now they are our pack leaders . Got to play with some heart, bigger minutes plus bigger output

agree with our and out brilliance there is no comparison. Week in week out I can’t agree though.
