I think half the team would not be happy with how they played. Gotta call a spade a spade it was a poor performanceIt wasn't the result we wanted, but I think most of the things we have worked on this year, you could see them implementing, and it wasn't too bad an effort against a much more disciplined than usual Warriors side.
Bad result, but most of the guys will be happy with their own effort.
Good summary . Not time to slash the wrists yet . I actually thought most of the guys seemed to be trying , seemed more committed in defence ,not much went our way
Sutton's got no idea as a ref, goes hard on the 10 then ignores the ruck , as for the Knights the Safitis's need to stay on feet more in tackles for the faster play the ball, the field kicking game was ordinarily - need a lot more distance with the kicks more to the cornersin what way are people seriously lumping that game on the coach. jesus can we keep the deathriding of AOB to the dedicated thread. discipline (or officiating) shifted the game in the first half, many key moments decided that game and i cant put much down to coaching.
positives for me:
- fitzgibbon, hitting holes and sured up that edge (much to my suprise).
- kurt mann , bloke plays his guts out and did a great job in an unfamiliar edge spot.
- ponga showed a real appetite to defend hard and did a pretty decent job of it, threatning with ball in hand, needs to move away from that left edge a little more though.
- edge systems largely in tact, apart from the try down our right edge (imo hastings was way to tight, dragged tuala in and game over)
-safs were great both sides of the ball and dont see how people were critisising them tbh.
negatives for me:
- elliot, well underdone and can clearly see the reasoning for his bench position this week. wait maybe the coach made the right call ?
- brailey was brailey and was good overall but thought he could of engaged the markers and tried his running game a little more.
- general good ball sets, we were well off and at times felt like we were playing without purpose, this will get better with time.
- hastings, again will take time but his last tackle options werent great as a whole. seemed clear we identified kicking to their centres for whatever reason but with an assett like dom on the right i thought we could of challenged montoya abit more in the air.
theres also the acknowledgement, pessimists will say excuses that our bench rotation was thrown well out of whack early which may have effected the predetermined minutes of our bench guys, ie elliot, crossland. the ponga hia was rubbish also at a crucial time, and i thought the ref actually caned us in the back end of the first half which didnt feel like it was replicated for both teams. barnett still hasnt been onside all night.
At least that should result in AOB being sacked. There are going to be some cricket scores on us this year

I agree the sags were good, Mann and Fitzgibbon tried hard. Some bad Dom tackle attempts but not sure what’s expected of him in attack when the ball never comes within 30m of his wing.
i think conditions played a part re kicking, both teams struggled, in saying tht though sj is pretty ordinary these daysSutton's got no idea as a ref, goes hard on the 10 then ignores the ruck , as for the Knights the Safitis's need to stay on feet more in tackles for the faster play the ball, the field kicking game was ordinarily - need a lot more distance with the kicks more to the corners
the count doesnt reflect the context. 6-0 up and we had 3 or 4 in a row against us on 5th tacklePenalties/six agains ended 14-12 to the knights

Couldn’t hurt they looked underdone. Lucky it was Wellington not TownsvillePretty soft really, gym is going well. Maybe I'll have to get the old boy to drag the club in and go a few rounds of proper high intensity training.
yeah cuz thats what i said.. sorry ill stick to the its all AoBs fault , lets sack him in rd1 narrative on here.It was 2 in a row, and enjoy your ref robbed us cope
I'm not surprised at all, each year under O'Brien we have gotten worse and more boring.I'm still amazed how you spend five months of pre-season with a good crop of new players and come out doing the same crap as last year
As I have been saying , no where to hide nowWell the whole "safs will turn over a new leaf and dominate with no Klemmer" theory got a real kick in the arse tonight
I thought we should've had one of them sent to the bin when they gave away 3 or 4 in a rowPenalties/six agains ended 14-12 to the knights
