Also for those wondering Farah is apparently on $1m per year in his last two years on a heavily backended contract. So we would be paying him a little less then his market value if we were paying less then 50% of the contract. Kind of feel like it would be a step back in development of our current hookers. The last thing they need is someone holding them back.
No wonder Taylor was saying how bad the cap situation was there. If this happened a year ago Potter would probably still have a coaching job.

Worked for Penrith as well, they got rid of the players who thought they were Assistant coaches to Elliot like Petro and Lewis and it has been a far better culture there under Cleary.

Even though he's apparently past it, you have to wonder what the Tigers are gonna do next year. One of their main problems is that they've thrown in rookies before their time & tried to run with it. A bit like if we threw Lamb & Cogger into the side next year & hoped they go alright. Things could get even worse for them without their leader.

Would be good to sign for 1-2 years until we have a permanent hooker to replace him with once hes gone. Plus the youngsters will learn a great deal from him! ATM with Randell, Clydes and Levi we will defs see 1 maybe 2 leave within the next few seasons because really which club needs 3 hookers? Especially with subs going down to 8, clubs will need more forwards on the bench due to fatigue!
However in saying that i think having the NSW half and hooker is something thatll be amazing and something that hasnt happened since Joey/Bedsy! There are clubs that are more desperate for a hooker than the Knights and will push harder for him! Im sure he has had enough of a club struggling to make the 8 every year and would much rather go somewhere that has a better chance at winning the prem (Rabbits, Dogs or Manly)

All our hookers are young rookies who aren't going to set the world on fire next year. Beyond that they probably will, but we could definately use a match winning hooker next year if we could get him at the right price.
Clydsdale is just starting to look like a competent firstgrade hooker.
Randell was playing mostly 5/8 and lock forward this time last year, with maybe 10 or 15 minutes at hooker in some games to give the hooker a rest, and he didn't look very good really. The fact that he matched it with Cam Smith last week after a year working with Bedsy is a bit of a miracle really, and has me thinking that he could be anything as he works on his skills more.
Levi is a different style of hooker - more of a better version of George N'daria, and it's great to see him working with George in reserve grade.

WESTS Tigers have confirmed that they have given club captain and life member Robbie Farah permission to look elsewhere at the end of the season.
After making his debut with the club in 2003, the 31-year-old has been told that he is free to leave the club at the end of the season despite having two years left to run on his contract.
The shock announcement has rocked the rugby league world, none more so than Wests Tigers fans, although those in the know are confident it will be a smart financial move for a club with notorious salary cap issues.
For the supporters of the other 15 NRL teams, it’s hunting season.
The current New South Wales hooker and vice-captain, Farah is one of the toughest players in the game and his experience would bolster any side — young or old.

Just last month they were vying for the signature of exciting Brisbane rake Matt Parcell, only to lose out to Manly.
While they have signed fan favourite Nathan Friend on a one-year deal as they attempt to transform Kieran Moseley into a first grade No.9, they will not re-sign Beau Falloon and Chad Redman.
Having released Dave Taylor to join Super League, Nate Myles leaving for Manly and Aidan Sezer off to Canberra, the club should have plenty of room to move under their salary cap.
And having budgeted for the marquee signing of Daly Cherry-Evans, Farah could quite possibly slot into the mix next year.
KNIGHTS
It’s no secret the club is in the process of making changes to their roster.
Losing Beau Scott, Kurt Gidley, David Fa’alogo, Clint Newton and Tyrone Roberts next year, coupled with the recent releases of Darius Boyd and Joey Leilua, the Knights have freed up some money under their cap — although they are believed to be footing around $200,000 of Roberts’ salary for 2016.
With Trent Hodkinson’s arrival next season a major coup for the club, signing a player whose game is built on defence will not only give them a leader but add some much needed steel to their squad.
Adam Clydesdale is yet to prove he is an 80-minute player and has been sharing duties with Tyler Randall for most of the season.
RABBITOHS
Cameron McInnes and Paul Carter may be on their books next year but don’t count out the defending premiers.
With Issac Luke moving to the Warriors in 2016, the Rabbitohs could use an 80-minute player capable of Farah’s workload.
To make things more interesting, the former Test star has a link with the club. Farah’s brother Eddie works as the Rabbitohs’ physiotherapist.
Following the release of Sam Burgess and Ben Te’o to play rugby at the end of last year, and Luke’s early release from the remainder of his contact, the club should have the funds available to accommodate his move should they want to go down that road.
SUPER LEAGUE
Salford’s director of rugby, Tim Sheens, is responsible for their recruitment and under strict instruction from owner Marwan Koukash to buy big name players, with the NRL a specific target.
Farah is the logical fit for the struggling club as they look to rebuild and he would qualify for the Super League’s marquee player allowance, where only a portion of a player’s salary goes on the cap.
While Farah and Sheens have had their run-ins in the past, you can’t completely discount the possibility. However, what may loom as a more viable option is Leeds.
They are without a gun hooker after former Shark Paul Aiton announced he would be leaving the Rhinos to join Catalans next season.

English recruit Josh Hodgson is signed until the end of next year and has been a revelation for the Raiders this season.
However, they will miss some experience upfront with the loss of Dave Shillington, and Farah could be the perfect foil.

You wouldn’t think there would be much room left under the cap for Manly next year and it’s believed incoming coach Trent Barrett has brought over Apisai Koroisau as a starting hooker.
Still, with no Matt Ballin and Koroisau as his replacement, it’s hardly enough to snub Farah if they have the funds.
PANTHERS
James Segeyaro would appear safe, but they have alternated him from the bench this year.
Do they see him as an 80-minute player?
He’s off contract at the end of 2017, so Farah could be a long shot to land at the foot of the mountains.

BIG NO to Farah I don't think he's as good as he thinks he is and if we bought him none of our young guys would play first grade again until he was gone . Or we would have a $900,000 player on the bench while the young guys get a run ...No thanks
