PRE-SEASON CHALLENGE R2 - KNIGHTS V STORM - 1.45 Sat 24th - Churchill Park, Fiji

I hope Brailey is OK, but it must be extremely difficult to came back from three ACL operations as well as an Achilles operation. It sounds like the hamstring strain could be related to the ACL operation as a hamstring graft is a common way of treating the injury, however it can lead to a slightly weaker hamstring. I wouldn't bring him back unless he's 100%. I would give Riley Jones the job, he looks keen and could turn out to be another Crossland.

I agree Dan isnt competing to his full potential past 2 years but besides an early error he was good off the bench in real tough coniditions. Eye test doesnt help the safs as they look in cruise mode being so rangey but Dan off the bench had almost more post contact meters than leo had run meters (love leo too). Hes been carrying injuries past 2 years probably due to getting bashed pillar to post as a 19 year old for us when he wasnt ready for grade. Im backing him to have a good year now hes supposedly fit and lost his spot!

If Gamble is a better defender than Hastings this year that’s a huge win, because Hastings has been really good defensively his whole career and Gamble has been more wholehearted than actually good. His technique has improved with us a lot though.

I think the tries which went through Hastings’ channel had more to do with getting badly beaten in the ruck & poor reads from guys around him, than with what he did.
True. I think people target the defence capabilities of a guy sometimes is unwarranted. The area a guy has to cover is generally between 5-6 meters maximum, but if someone beside them is slow getting in line or has just read it all wrong, that area is now doubled. Something I guess a coach and his staff would always be looking at that the viewer sometimes rarely notices.

A good example is the try where they went past KPP on the weekend. He copped all the blame on here, but Cogger really should have been covering the inside. He was too slow to get across.
