Just saw the club statement on the committee being formed to select the next head coach.

Somehow Michael Hagan is on it, interesting.

No timeframes given though, but at least it's not just being handballed to Green.

Inherited a generational roster in 2001 and left us in a poor state when he at the end of 2006, then paid absurd overs for players who were average when in charge of recruitment ( I wanna say around 2014-15).

He also seems to enjoy sticking the boot into us at every possible opportunity with his commentary for KOFM.

I’m sure it’s probably to appease a faction of the old boys that Hagan is on the committee, but also hopefully his hyperbolic criticism after games will settle down now his part of the decision making process.

Good point. I’m glad the club is doing its due diligence with the appointment rather than making a rash or knee jerk decision. But the thought of Hagan in a position of power at the club again, worries me.

Really glad the club put this statement out. And having Hagan on the committee is a good thing I say.

So, so far,

I've heard Willie Peters is out of contention.

From the media seems front-runners are -
Hollbrook
Green
Dean Young

Haven't heard anything about Morris in the media, but I hope he applies for the job.

On the surface, Hollbrooke would be my pick. But whatever the outcome, I trust this committee will go through the right process and come up with the best candidate.

He’s the defence coach for the dragons and was the interim coach for a few games after Mary got the sack

I’m pretty sure he was the defence coach for the Cows in 2022 as well
 
None of the current names work for me.

Wests need to loosen the purse strings and get us someone good.
If they can't find anyone good - put in a caretaker coach till they can.
