NZ WARRIORS V NEWCASTLE KNIGHTS - SAT 28TH 3.00PM, Redcliffe Qld

I still think we lack real leadership and direction once the game starts. I don't see anyone barking orders and taking control. All the great teams have had that person who runs the show, leads by example and is respected by his fellow team members. I think Ponga is trying harder but it may not be in his personality to be that person and I'm not sure Clifford, Milford or Randall can do it either. Hopefully Brailey is that person because I can't see anyone else who could.

I notice Milf and Fitz have been working on Fitz's signature move of taking a short pass right at the line and trying to burst through two defenders.
They couldn't get it right this game, but not far off.
Despite the numbers on their backs, Cliff played the same role and position he did with a different number on his back, and Milf was playing the same role as Clune.
The stats say Milf did 3 kicks for 52 metres and Clifford did 14 kicks for 512 metres. I'm pretty surprised by that. I thought they were splitting the kicking pretty evenly.
Nah Milford hardly kicked

I’m sure Ponga is a decent human being but I think he is too soft to 1) Captain the side & 2) really reach his full potential. You only have to look at yesterday’s game to see that. Every time someone from the Warriors looked like being hurt, he was all over them like a mother hen, checking to see if they were all right. Sorry but you need a bit of mongrel in you to play this game & he doesn’t have it. Don’t get me wrong, if a opposition player was on the ground and it was obvious he was badly hurt, I would do whatever it took to assist them, if needed, but when I played, as a front row forward & let me just say, never at this level, if I put a good hit on an opponent, I would feel pleased as I was doing my job.
I just feel Ponga needs to get tougher. No one ever goes out in a game to intentionally hurt another player but you need to let them know you are on the field & the next time they ran at you, they would get more of the same. I just feel he cares too much to be a leader or reach his full potential. Again, I’m sure he’s a decent human being, just not tough enough to play this, let’s face it, brutal game.

Guy lost his sibling in a horrible accident, so of course he’s going to be concerned about other people getting hurt.
