Honestly I’d go with Hastings, he is better defensively, looked more lively when running
Having said all of this both suck hard, but going of form Hastings out did Cogger, not to mention that was Hastings first game in the NRL this year

The back rowers looked better running off Hastings. He dug into the line.
But he was rubbish at a lot of other things.
Too many one out runs.
Cogger had a nice try assist, but he throws a lot of hospital balls and every time he goes short to a back rowers it looks forward.
Gambles not perfect but he's the pick of the three. Hopefully he is back or close.

Terrible is very harsh. He was ok.
Very happy with Crossland in the 13, he gives great service and looks more at home.....
Hastings was pretty poor along with Cogger, my halves would be Gamble and Sharpe for the rest of the year.
Or mix it up, have KP play 6 in attack and Sharpe fullback so he can roam around etc.....

I liked Hastings enthusiasm in defence and commented early on in the piece that he looked good. But the longer the game went the less he played for the team and the more frustrated I was watching.
Would probably take back my comments if I could TBH.
I'd be sending Hunt back to reserves next week provided Marzhew is fit. With KP back and the others back we'll be a much better chance, although the Dolphins are red hot ATM and I fear what they'll do to us if we don't turn up.
Agree he looked ok to start the game and did a few good things.

The first 10 times he did it I thought he was playing the long game and would shape to do it again but then whip it out to Gags for a 2-2 as the defence compressed expecting the KPP ball. Alas, it never happened.
For what it’s worth, if Gamble isn’t fit I would play Hastings over Cogger. He’s just a better footballer. I would also be getting Sharpe to watch how he digs into the line before making a pass. As Sharpe continues his education as a half, that is one thing he can improve on immeasurably.

Yeah same. He would be so more destructive and had the ability if he changed it up. He fails to see what’s in front of him. The sad thing is he is our best 7.

I actually think that Hastings wasn’t that bad, he actually seemed to try a few different things compared to what Cogger dished up all year and as he has played with those younger guys in NSW cup he seemed to be able to open those young guys up and they seemed to play some of their better first grade games
He may have run a little too much near the line but he also almost got over the line like 3 or 4 times
If he was a little quicker obviously from his injury then might have iced those darts at the line.
In reality it’s consistency across the board with all our halves though, 1 decent game then 2-3 big average games

Hes not as bad as we make out on the forum, but he definitely isnt NRL level with his lack of creativity. He's more of a foil than a leader.
We saw it all through last season, the ball got to our outside backs so little from him.
Despite all that, my hunch is he’s pretty happy at the club right now. There’s been no big dramatic posts, interviews or podcast appearances. Maybe fatherhood has put things in perspective for him, which is great to see. He looks very happy on his instagram. And if he wasn’t, I reckon we’d be hearing about it.
So I wish him well in the future, anyway!

From what I’ve seen and recently been told he loves working with the younger lads and they have really embraced him, they like to take on what he wants to share as being taught about league.
