NRL Round 13 - Knights V Bulldogs - 8:00pm Friday 31st May - McDonald Jones Stadium

Not a huge Mapapalangi fan but you can at least guarantee we'll get as much as he can give because he'll effectively be playing for an NRL career. To his credit didn't really put a foot wrong in his 2 games to date either. Little bit scared we're about to see how much Bradman has been doing for the other guys defending on that edge.

Positive is that it allows us to keep the pack consistent and work Friz into that middle rotation.
I don't think you could say he didn't put a foot wrong. I remember his debut game against the Cowboys I believe that he got torn apart in defense with Holmes/Taulagi running rings around him all afternoon. However from memory he played on the right hand side in place of Gagai instead of his preferred left side.

Maps debut was against the Raiders and he played on the left with Edrick outside him, next game was against the Titans in the same spot. Didn't do anything too crazy but was solid through both games.

Sasagi struggled in defence on debut vs Cowboys playing on the right, you could be thinking of him.

You're 100% right! That's actually jogged my memory. I actually recall him being very solid defensively against the Raiders.

My bad!

Yeah I think Mapapalangi deserves a chance. I thought he did a good job in his games. Just easy for people to write him off or dismiss him because he hasn't been able to get on the field for a year. That used to be Bradman. He'll get a chance eventually and we'll see what he's got in 2024.

1. KP
2. Moce
3. Gagai
4. Best
5. Marzhew
6. Gamble/Armstrong
7. Hastings
8. Jsaf
9. Brailey
10. Thompson
11. Lucas
12. KPP
13. Elliot
14. Crossland
15. Dsaf
16. Hetho
17. Frizell

I think this is the best side we can put on paper for 2024. If moce keeps putting in dominant performances I see him forcing his way into the side regardless of how 'safe' tuala is.
Would like to see the coaching staff over the coming weeks to start working on Armstrong passing kicking and ball playing in the background with a view to make him not only a fullback. He has the electric speed and toughness, don't want to see him pigeon-holed. Otherwise for the 6 it's gamble atm.

Am I the only one on here that thinks Elliot is trash??

I would love to see Maps get his chance against the dogs. I would also like to see Crossland brought in to play 5/8, so he can defend Kikau.

I'm sure you're not, but I think he is a sneaky smart footballer, better at some of the dark arts that win the ruck than most of our blokes. You know that radar you have that goes off when you think your team is about to be penalised for getting up too slow? When mine goes off and a penalty doesn't come, 9 times out of 10 it is Elliot getting off the tackled player last.
