New rugby league video game coming to PS3/Xbox 360

it has comps but i think you would have at least the nrl primiership mode plus you can make your own comps cant you??

just make it go 4 years lol closest thing to a franchise mode

Yes you can create your own compititions and Definatlley no franchise mode. But i mainly want it for online any way!! But like you said it has a single season mode!
 
Real shame really. I exclusively play franchise modes in sports games and online play holds no interest for me.

Guess I'll just go with single season mode, I assume there will be a team editor so I could make a few manual 'signings', moving players to different clubs before playing a season mode.

And I can always throw RL3 on the Wii on for my Franchise fix
 
Some new semi-interesting info

-option to pick up the ball with the lock at the back of the scrum and run/pass/ do what you want.

-All players have a new stat called Momentum. So players like Fui Fui have a very high rating for it and are less liking to be driven back in tackles.

-Defensive AI will come in and help you on their own accord as seen in 0.33 of the trailer.

-plays where a player will draw in defence before passing

Seriously, I had very low expectations going into this but this game is AWESOME!!!.

I've played one game only and it plays great, the players are very responsive and control very well. The game flows really well and is faster than it looks in the trailer. The atmosphere is fantastic, the crowd noises add to it further, tackles are sweet and it just has that something about it, just the realistic look and feel and the mannerisms of players and the way they animate and AAAARRRGH!!! it is too good to be true. I honestly can't believe Bigant have made this game THIS good.

I'm sure there will be doubters but, and I know I may be just saying this because I'm so excited but I think this is THE best Rugby League game EVER and I can't believe I'm saying that after only one game. I know I am going to enjoy this game very much for quite some time.

I'm just looking at the forums for this game, and appearntly you cant even edit the teams!!!! And there is also no option to pick the ball up at lock from the scrum.

That sucks!! I was hoping to be able to make my own team then add players like inglis and thurston etc

That's because if people could edit teams, they would exploit this online so they could put the players stats up to 99, which give them a massive advantage

Yeah, but they could make it so edited teams dont go on online...like when you play fifa online they have the original squads
 
This game is lacking so many features it is ridiculous. I'm really starting to reconsider buying it as online play doesn't interest me and the lack of a franchise and edit modes are massive oversights. I can't believe they are going to charge full price for essentially half a game

As mentioned just about every sports game made with online play has had edits disabled for online play with only default squads available.
 
yeah its true i just went and picked my game up about to play it!!

for what its worth it says on the cover that you can create you own teams players and comps so should be good

i was heaps worried when i read you couldnt customize your teams

anyways off to play will post my thoughts when i return..... probly in a couple of days lol
 
After playing the game here are my thoughts

Pro's= everything is better besides the cons

cons= lack of franchise, limited customization, macdougal has hair!,

basically its an upgrade from rl3 without franchise. This game is best played with a friend and is very enjoyable to play 8/10
