Mullen Dally M

I think McManus deserves winger of the year, purely for his consistency, leading the try scoring tally and playing Origin. Taufua probably finished off the season a bit stronger but he got suspended for off-field behavior and McManus was better for the first 3/4 of the season imo. I also don't think Simmons should even be in contention, he finished off plenty of tries yeah but I still don't rate him.

Mullen also deserves 5/8 of the year at least, they'd be absolutely joking if Carney/Thurston/Sutton got it. Mullen is the main reason we're in the position we're in now, he's dominated teams with his kicking game and all of his try assists and has been way more consistent than any of those 3.

But they'll probably give it to Thurston to stop him from whinging about something else.

We will know quick. If 5/8th of the year is announced before it he wouldn't have won.

Reminds me of another point, he may not even get 5.8th of the year despite polling the most points in the position. Although the Dally M automatically wins their position, the other positions are judged by a panel instead for some bizarre reason..

The players that we've got that are in contention for anything is McManus and Mullen. Best case scenario is Mullen- 5/8th of the year, Dally M player of the year Jimmy- Winger of the year

I thought there was some weird rule like if you finish in the top three then you automatically win your position award ... unless there's more than one player from that position in the top three, of course.

That is correct.

Top 3 in no order will be JT, Cronk and Carney imo.

Yeh not too sure, all I can remember is players have won awards even though they didnt even finish in the top 10 for Dally M voting, while another player in their position did. 2009 when the Bulldogs cleaned up raised a few questions from memory.

2009 - Ennis got 19 Dally M Votes, and won despite Farah polling 24.
2010 - Prince didnt even get in the top 10 and won halfback, while Cronk came 6th on 18 points.
2010 - Luke Lewis won Lock of the year while not in the top 10, Gallen came 5th on 19 points.
2012 - Burgess failed to get any positional award despite being the only non-hooking forward in the top 10.

i think cronk will get it even though he doesn't deserve it so that all of 'the big 3' have won
in round 16 against the tigers the storm got rolled, cronk made 17 tackles and missed 1, made an error, conceded a penalty and took 1 run for 7m but yet he still managed to poll 2 dally m points somehow
