Members Launch at Hunter Stadium

There are a few pics on our facebook page now www.facebook.com/marathonstadium

I once again enjoyed the Members Forum, found it not overly informative in a football view but I think that the comradery was evident amongst the players which was great to see and a couple of things the players said made me really happy. Here is a bit of a transcript.

Kid: Aku, how long are you gonna play for the Knights for?
Aku: You need to ask Wayne Bennett (laughs) Nah, I dunno, maybe forever, I dunno, I dunno.

Audience member: Do any of you have any representative ambition?
Jarrod: Obviously I'd love to but I'd trade it.... us, all the boys would all definitely trade it all for a Grand final win, speak to players who have played for their country or their state and won a grand final, they've all said that's the pinnacle, so obviously its great to make representative teams but I'd love to win a comp here with Newcastle

Other points of note, Danny Buderus is hoping to be ready by round 2 & Willie Mason is hoping his body holds up after this two year contract but he refuses to push himself because post footy lifestyle is more important than running himself into the ground. There were many many laughs in the members forum mostly from things Aku said. For example: He likes to wave at the crowd and thank them for coming to watch him score tries. In the way only Aku can say it without sounding like a douche :D

Haha thanks Jekk, I can't help by smile every time I hear Uate talk. God I love him!!!!

And it's great to know Bedsy is expecting to be back by round 2 :D We just gotta get through the Tigers with the win and the confidence should be enormous.

My bro asked the rep question

I looked and looked for him at the knights one. not much wonder I couldnt find him!

I had to have a bit of a giggle at one thing...just before the members forum I seen bennett hiding in a room all by himself looking rather bored...

I also noticed that boyd's attitude throughout the whole night was a bit of a worry, he seemed like he didn't want to be there at all...even when he was doing autographs he just didnt seem interested

Bennett and Boyd are both introverts who aren't fans of all the attention, I wouldn't read anything into it. I feel their pain, myself! A fans day when everyone wanted to talk to me would be my worst nightmare!

I think Boyd just has a permanent look of boredom on his face lol like Gidley has a deer in headlights expression 24/7. But clearly they both love the Knights!

I agree, it wouldn't kill him to say Hi to a fan or two. Wayne may be introverted too but he handles fans with extreme professionalism and makes everyone feel good about their meeting but I feel like I'm wasting Darius' time.

Got there late on. Highlight was when we were leaving and my old man let a car go in front of us in the car park turned out to be Mullen and Willie. Both gave 'the wave' and then drove off.

Wayne's a good bloke, i actually got a laugh out of him when I told him that I am fitter than all the players..
