Wouldn't be very good roster management to put all out fullback eggs with Ponga. He could stay sure, but he could easily walk out and insurance there is required.

Maybe but its not like we dont have any f/backs to take his place , Toa , Mann , Watson , Hoy , Hodgson , My pick Best , Even Hunt would go alright at f,b imo . Whatever OBi wants is all good with me though ...
 
I reckon Ponga has told them if he can in the Union side he wont take up the 2 yrs in his favour but if they tell him he wont get in then he has us to fall back on on big dollars ...
 
O'Brien would be pretty familiar with the Baker boy, since he was at the Roosters when O'Brien was there. O'Brien isn't afraid to move guys around, so he could see him as a wing or centre.
O'Brien knew Momoisea from Melbourne and the first thing he did when he got here was to move Momo to second row, where he has still never played in a game as far as I know.

Merit teams are about as good as AFL's National Team. They can play with themselves if they like!!!!!

And Dan add Gagai and Cordner to the LOLs.

Article about Jack Johns returning to the Knights.
Says he is 10kg bigger.
Says O'Brien told him he would get no special treatment.
Says he hardly recognises the place after 2 years - different staff - different attitude.
Interestingly, says he learnt a lot from John Sutton about second row play. If Johns reaches his potential he could develop into a Sutton style second row. Both have playmaking skills and game awareness from their time in the halves. Johns will just have to get stronger and tougher and fitter and he's there.

Although I wouldn't have thought of him as a mentor, there would likely be a lot that Sutton could impart to a developing player...I've always thought of Sutton as a player that could have been a lot better if he'd been a bit more driven and consistent. His best was top shelf, but like many players he had some very mediocre performances in him as well.

Will be interesting to see where Jack ends up as the season progresses
 
O'Brien in an interview talking about who can kick a 40 metre field goal.
Dureau was the king of 40 metre field goals, so he could coach it.
Only guy in our current squad I've seen kick one is Jack Johns. He kicked one to get us a draw against Wyong in reserve grade in the last few seconds of the game. It made it over the bar by about a centimetre.
