Salary cap auditor should be bashing down our door if any of the salary numbers Mason threw out there are true.

I don’t think Gamble and Cogger would make $600K between the two of them 😆

Cogger was signed before his decent run with the Panthers and as a NSW Cup backup replacement for Clune, so if he's on anything near that then just close the organisation down. Wasn't $200k mentioned at the time he signed?
 
Gus' preview for us ... video should start in the right place. Pretty much echoes what most on here have said. Experienced team, needs to settle on halves, doesn't seem sold on Sharpe at 5/8 yet, Panthers, Storm and Broncos are the three standouts and the rest are a bit of a jumble, he thinks we'll be mid-table again:

 
I mean I’m not taking advice from a guy who is apart of a a rival club but I really liked Sharpe at 6 he looked alright and long term I think he can be a really dominant 6.

Pace, heart, footy IQ, he needs to get his defence better but with time he will completely eclipse every option at the club easily.

He should have gotten an extra try assist but I think it was Brodie jones who wasn’t ready when Sharpe split two defenders and dropped the ball.

In the end he got one try assist, 18/18 tackles made 60+ running meters he got split badly by going out to much and his inside defender didn’t come out with him but that’s something he’ll learn from experience.

There is literally no one in NRL media who knows less about footy.

I actually think Gus' breakdown is totally fair. Good, experienced squad which desperately needs to sort out the halves, profiles like a mid table team. Sharpe is very talented but it's no certainty he'd pan out as a number 6. All fair points.
 
Yeah Matt Thompson is just like the other talking heads. Just throw loose comments from what they have heard from other **** Journos.

Gus’s preview was good. Gus dose not make throw away comments and passes judgment based on what he knows. All fair and valid points.
 
Yeah Gus didn’t say anything bad about Sharpe or his move to 6, just that he doesn’t know how he’ll go because he’s a fullback but acknowledges he’s behind Ponga. We’re all in the same boat where we don’t know how he’ll go.

Totally, will be interesting to watch him this week. Hopefully he takes a few different options. Personally I'd be happy for him to really just focus on running the ball first and foremost, while he develops. Finding the right option will come naturally, in time. Defence too, a work in progress.

Gus' preview sounded realistic to me. Mid table side that has got more experience than in previous seasons.
 
I have to say these season previews really have highlighted to me how little effort or research people bother putting into their reckonings. And some of these people have been paid professionals! They can't even look at the trial teams, or listen to interviews with the coach about plans for the season.

It really does highlight how these tropes like "everything at the Knights rests on Ponga" become ingrained. Even though we won 5/9 (56%) without him last year and 7/16 (44%) with him.
 
Maybe these media outlets should be funding the forum! Well the dude from “the roar” reached out and hopefully we have gave him some good insight for his article.
