Kalyn Ponga re-signs with the Knights

The Telegraph are hardly a reputable source. But, if that's indeed the case, it's pretty poor reporting from everyone last year, the club included.

I hope it's sorted quickly and doesn't hang around all season.

Telegraph reporting Ponga has a clause in his contract that allows him to leave at the end of 2022 irrespective of whether the knights win the comp, needs to inform the club by June 1.

Let the speculation begin in earnest.
Interestingly, newscorp & foxtel put a lot of money into the start up of the dolphins. This new team will be like a Melbourne storm rather than a titans. They wanted the nrl to ensure this team isn’t a dud.

Now they have financial interest in the team, look out for newscorp journalists forcing the player market rumours rather than actually reporting on fact.

They want the pongas & munsters to transfer to the dolphins.

Of course when it comes to daddy Politis, the only stories you’ll ever see about his team are “player takes less money to stay with greatest and most well-endowed club in rugby league”

They need to get rid of these BS clauses in players contracts that make zero sense. What happened to just good old fashioned contracts that were signed for x amount of years?

I'm really over Ponga leaving every single bloody year. Far out media, get the f@ck over it!

Used to be the same every time Andrew Johns contract came up.

I doubt they have much actual info.

I mean these blokes act like players hand their contracts over to them to read before they sign it.

Not sure if was known on here or not but just read that kaylan ponga sold his newcastle house 3 days ago. EDIT that's what the headline said, after reading the article I think it was just Watson's house and ponga lived there.

Article says the house belongs to Watson and sold for $1.2 mill - which is insane for an old house on a small block in Hamilton South.

It is a nice place actually, and home of the famous 257 collective. Of course, before you moved in, you'd want the floors and walls scrubbed really well. Ceiling too, come to think of it.
If their mattresses could talk. They’d tell one hell of a tale.

Seriously, something that may count against us, he does have a new girlfriend he met while he was holidaying in Queensland. He's always kept pretty quiet about all this, but has been a lot more open about this one. If it continues, hopefully she moves down here.

In all honesty is it better for us to match Pongas $1.4mil offer for 2023 & 2024?
Or is it better to spend that money elsewhere?

Ponga? Or a combi like Gutho and Papali'i for example?

I'm still undecided but leaning towards the latter.

Something Telling me, ponga is waiting to see how the halves situation unfolds for 2022-2023 and our recruitment/s is he playing halves role? Is he playing in FB role and should he waste any more time here. Getting Joey back here was a good start

For those with access to the daily tele, can you give us the gist of the article titled "Ponga switch set to shake up the player market"?
