He has averaged 60 minutes a game this year, so plays about the same minutes as Levi.

It's no secret Brown wants an 80 minute hooker and Brailey is the latest he is going to try, burning through hookers along the way.

Watson isn't going anywhere, he is much more versatile than Levi and can drop in to stints at hooker if need be and do a good job of it, Brailey and Levi can share the role, Griffin won't be re-signed.

But, Brailey and Levi won't be both in first grade together, it will be one of them and Watson on the bench.

More competition for spots is a good thing.

It's a big call for them to make, but as we've said for some time, "In Brown We Trust".

Until the number of interchanges drop there's less pressure to have an 80 minute hooker, until that time we could certainly do worse than either Levi or Brailey with Watson keeping them honest.
 
Sharks are playing under a reduced salary cap next season so they don’t really have a big incentive to drag it out was my understanding.
 
One negative of having bonuses in player contracts makes it tough to juggle next years cap. Ponga will get extras for playing origin and Pearce for playing finals. So I guess the club won't know how much they have to spend until these eventuate. I wouldn't be surprised if Brailey isn't announced until the end of the year, or until Levi is moved on in the meantime which will free up the cap space

True, and I think they are also trying to work out which 6 players they are going to re-sign, upgrade or sign.
 
Yep I can't see anyone taking on a player coming back from 4 knee recons unless we cover most of the bill
 
Do you guys think Brailey is an upgrade on Levi?
I'm undecided.
Will have to watch him more closely now.
Sharks may start putting him on the bench now he is leaving though.

Well if Levi wants out of course Brailey will be a better option but will he be a better option than Watson?
