Jake Clifford

Worst thing you can say about Lolo is that the new rules are making lock forward a bit more of a distinct position again than it has been for a while, rather than just a position you put a third prop or a tacklebot back rower in. If the Cowboys had a lock in the Radley or Murray mold and moved Lolo to prop he’d be one of the best props in the comp, still one of the best forwards going round even after all these years of redlining. He’s still a big bastard who’s uncommonly fast and nimble for his size, and he’s still insanely consistent with his effort and work rate and I don’t think these things have gone out of fashion just yet. Yeah I’d say he’s doing fine too.
We do, his name is Ruben Cotter but he has a bad ankle injury right now. Injured it during the Tigers game where he played on for 55 tackles and 160m. Payten said his foot swelled up after the game and couldn’t put a shoe on. Poor bastard has had 2 or 3 acl injuries already as well. Barely played any junior games but is a gun. Mainly played hooker in FG but most fans think he is a lock in the mould of a Radley/Murray which I mentioned on here at the start of the year.

He's doing fine as you have all said. But he's not having the same impact as previous years imo. He use to get a number of games over the 300m mark.
He is averaging 153m this year.
Pretty sure he has averaged over 200m in the past.
Averaging less because of what Payten wants. Big uproar for him keeping Taumalolo on the bench for so long in the first round. We are being less reliant on him or at least that’s the aim from Payten.

Fair enough. I thought Cotter was a smaller body than he was but looking at his profile he’s listed at 97kg, pretty solid. Guess you guys are all set then. A premiership in the next few years a mere formality.

Cotter goes well, would suit the modern day lock. I'm told he gets annoyed when everyone says "welcome back" every time he walks in a room.

(Joke referencing an old show for those who are confused, gave a young John Travolta his start)

His dreams could be his ticket out.

Mann is a good squad member at the right price.
We are currently asking him to be our main playmaker - a role traditionally filled by someone getting a million a year - and he isn't up to it - but for about 300k or so, he is a guy who will do an adequate job in many different roles, from hooker to fullback.
His main competition is Tex Hoy, a very similar style of player who is much younger and potentially better, but with about 100 firstgrade games less experience.

We only have one top 30 spot available right? Not sure how we would be looking at bringing both Clifford and possibly Lodge, unless a retirement of Green was on the cards. Or its BS.
