Jake Clifford

Rudi on the Cowboys forum is saying the reason it hasn’t happened as yet is because Cliffords partner is pregnant and doesn’t want to move at this point in time otherwise he would of been at the Knights by now.

Let’s just remember he has said this will happen long before any journo said it including Toohey.
Same guy who said several rounds ago that Clifford would be here by now? I’d take Toohey’s word for it.

Same guy that said he would switch mid season before any journo brought it up as a possibility including Toohey. He has also stated why it hasn’t happened yet.

So Clifford signed for Newcastle over the offseason, and an anonymous Cowboys forum member brings up that there’s a possibility that he might swap teams mid-season? The same thing that regularly happens every year with multiple players and multiple teams? Geez, incredible insight :) FWIW, I hope Rudi is right. That said, there’s every chance he’s doing a Mole and just seeing what sticks.

He knows someone inside the club and has proven so for many years by posting who is coming and leaving the club before any journo picks up on it. But whatever floats your boat.

Clifford for Mann would absolutely float my boat

Seriously though, once Clifford comes here, Mann will have a better player in front of him in every position he generally plays, so he should only get a run in case of injury. We’d be paying him too much to have that sort of role, so I think this type of swap would be good. He’d be a decent centre for the Cowboys if that’s where he goes.

Hearing rumours of a David Klemmer - Jason Taumalolo player swap. Works for both parties - Cowboys get a little bit of cap space, Knights get the greatest forward in the history of the sport. Personally very on board with this.

Lolo hasn't had the same impact this year as previous years. The new rules my have effected him also.

Ask Rudi when she's due. Need this baby to pop out ASAP

Worst thing you can say about Lolo is that the new rules are making lock forward a bit more of a distinct position again than it has been for a while, rather than just a position you put a third prop or a tacklebot back rower in. If the Cowboys had a lock in the Radley or Murray mold and moved Lolo to prop he’d be one of the best props in the comp, still one of the best forwards going round even after all these years of redlining. He’s still a big bastard who’s uncommonly fast and nimble for his size, and he’s still insanely consistent with his effort and work rate and I don’t think these things have gone out of fashion just yet. Yeah I’d say he’s doing fine too.

He's doing fine as you have all said. But he's not having the same impact as previous years imo. He use to get a number of games over the 300m mark.
He is averaging 153m this year.
Pretty sure he has averaged over 200m in the past.

On those stats, sure. But 150+ metres for a forward is massive, plus however many tackles he’s making in the middle. Cowboys perhaps aren’t relying as much on him as they have in the past and pushing the other forwards to contribute.
