Jackson Hastings discussion

Had a good 2023 season but was ordinary after that.

His leg injuries hindered him and wasn't the same in the next 2 seasons. Form dropped off badly too. Forgot his attitude was bad and more worried about fighting his team mates and opponents than guiding the side around the field.

Probably ends up in the Super League, haven't heard too much of him since he got dropped.

Good riddance I say.....horrible attitude and always has issues with every club he's been at.

Thought he was a horrible signing at the time.

The injuries definitely hurt but I reckon he’s a bit of a self-sabotaging type. Since Joey retired we wouldn’t have gotten many better seasons from a 7 since 2023. 2024 it honestly just felt like he went away from what he was doing well in 2023. It is what it is now. If Sandon pans out we’ll look back on Hastings fairly neutrally overall I think.

Does anyone know what rules they are planning for R360? Is it pure rugby union or a hybrid of both codes?

Hastings would probably make a decent 10 in rugby union. Wouldn’t need the pace he clearly doesn’t have anymore (find it odd that he was a FB in his younger years) but can still manipulate a defensive line with his ball playing.

In the words of Warren Ryan, he was "quick enough" before the hip drop that snapped his ankle. Hasn't been the same since.

I know he didn’t live up to a genuine quality 7 we were hoping for but I also think it was on AOB not giving him more of a crack. He should have controlled the situation with his team mates and wives. We needed to win games.
I’m sure there was a blow up with the gfs and wives but I don’t think it had anything to do with him not playing first grade. The week that story was reported he was 18th man. Unfortunately the way it went this year with our halves, we were low on quality there and nobody really (besides Sharpe) was going to affect the result.

He’s had similar and worse problems at every NRL club he’s ever been at.

They wanted him off the books before the season kicked off. They'd told him he didn’t fit in to their plans this year and he'd be playing reggies in the hope he'd find another gig. No point choosing him while the chance to move existed. Once that chance went and our options were limited, he came in to consideration. All the other stuff, the Pryce punch, the wag stuff, was all secondary to this.

What a **** fight our halves situation has been the last two years. We had the worst halves in the comp, easily. Well lest put the **** show behind us now. (No injuries please)

How could you say such things, we had a premiership winning halfback leading the way who played almost every game....
