Could you imagine how lethal we’d be in attack if we could add Dylan Brown.

Yesterday was where we’d like to see our attack each week. Obviously there will be ups and downs due to the steep learning curve Sharpe is on, which is expected if we are realistic. But now they have seen that they can play like that, so they know they can do it, which will encourage them even more

Also both Sharpe and Cogger defended much better this week.

Yeah Parra had some stink on them last year, the back 5 were just so far below FG level and the pack wasn’t much better either. I’m quite keen on Brown just don’t want to be handing him a 10 year contract. A partially torn ACL and various shoulder injuries should give us some concerns.

Does anyone know how long after a partially torn ACL it is no longer a problem or is it always a concern?

For example if he made it through the next 12 months, would that mean there is no longer a risk of fully tearing his ACL

30-50% progress to a full rupture within their career, so that risk will always be there. But every ACL tear is different. There's a risk anyone could just do one every game.

They can't regenerate so the risk of full rupture is always there.

One thing about Sharpe is we don't have anyone who can play his role if he is injured. Well, Ponga could, but we aren't doing that again.

Jye Linnane might have been a backup for Sharpe if he didn't get injured, but way, way less talented.
Fletcher Hunt might turn into a Sharpe clone with a decent kicking game, but not this year.
I suppose that leaves us with Pryce - who is Sharpe with none of the footy instincts, but at least he will be able to do the same set plays - just not the ab lib stuff.

If our 7 goes down Crossland just moves into that role and Brailey or who ever is 14 goes into 9. Sharpe will not and should not have to be the main play maker anytime soon

Looks certain that Fletcher Sharpe will be 5/8, and I refuse to say "I told you so!!" That being said I was very impressed with Tyrone Thompson, despite his limited opportuniies. I am tipping him to fill Leo's boots well and truly before the season's end. I am also tipping that he goes a long way in the NRL once he hones his skills. Who was the substitute fullback with the mullet?? I loved his pluck and ability under the high ball.

He joined us last year from the little town of Warren, north of Dubbo (pop, 1350).
The year before he played Laurie Daley cup for Central West and also made a name for himself in the schoolboys championship.
He wasn't selected for the first few rounds of SG Ball last year, but came in at 5/8 when Jye Linnane was injured and had a fantastic Ball season, getting us to the finals.
After Ball he played out the season in Flegg at fullback and again did well.
He played for Newcastle in the Koori knockout and looked pretty good as well.
I think he is the only player we have used in the two trials who didn't train with the firstgrade squad. He must have trained with reserve grade and done well enough to get the call up.

Leo’s twin Tyrone is going brilliantly for a forward who has just come over from Rugby Union. He looks like a goer to me.

Wow, Fletcher Hunt plays very much like Fletcher Sharp and is electric as a try scorer and provider. What a great future we have with these guys who can really motor and are very instinctive players. All they needed was an opportunity.

Yeah the name and mullet is kind of where the similarities start and end. Pretty different as players. Hunt a lot bigger but slower and more of a skilful playmaker than a runner like Sharpe. Played five-eighth for most of the year and then ended the year switching between centre and fullback (sometimes mid-game), and played centre in the NRL and NSW Cup trials last week.

As Billy said he wasn’t even training with first grade as far as we knew so I have no idea where to place him for this year. I assumed Jersey Flegg but if trial form was the only thing considered he did more to impress as a backup fullback option than Pryce and Votano. Only 18 or 19 but looks more than ready physically for reserve grade.

There was talk they were looking to move him on but he didn't find a contract, merely because club realised they had an abundance of running halves and needed to bring in some game managers. Not sure if him being in trial squads is him impressing POS and staff or giving him more a chance to find somewhere.

Great talent though and only a yr into his career, would rather hold onto him if that is now the plan.

Is there something in the water?? We keep producing quality full-backs but ZERO half backs. I know it was only one game and a trial as well but I can't get Fletcher Hunt out of my mind. Thanks by the way, I had no idea who he was.
