Fletcher Sharpe discussion

If the dude is training to play in the halves and he accepts a four year deal for $300K he’s got rocks in his head and so does his agent. There’s no chance at all he’s on less than $500K. Zero.

He was a rookie, undersized winger when he was last upgraded.
No way they upgraded him to a similar contract to Bradman after a couple of good games on the wing.
He's still a rookie I suppose, but he's at least doubled or tripled his asking price i'd say.

Best is a really good comparison because he got an upgrade before the 2021 season kicked off when he had 14 first grade games under his belt.
That deal ended up paying him over 600k a year...

If the extension was for two years, then yeah maybe I'd buy it's still relatively cheap - back yourself to earn a bigger money deal after that.

But a four year deal, no, if you take $300K and you're killing it by the end of year one, you're dudding yourself out of well over a million dollars.

Latu Fainu got $500K from Wests before playing a single first grade game & Jayden Sullivan the same even though he'd proven nothing, Lewis Dodd got $700K from Souths when he couldn't consistently get a game for St Helens, Lachlan Ilias the same after half a season of being mediocre, Ethan Strange $700K halfway into his first first grade season for Canberra, etc. If he's extended on the understanding he'd play 6 for us, this is the kind of number we're looking at. Somewhere between $500K and $700K. You can be pretty close to certain of that.

If he was playing fullback it'd be one of the best contracts in the NRL...

Don’t see a problem, anything we say, agree or disagree means nothing unless Club is acting on it.
If he is on good dollars, $500k or plus no need yet for action if less, $300k??? Then we should ensure we act.
Trust POS

Hopefully minor.

Article that points out treatment depends on severity, but doesn't have any information on how severe the injury is, so goes to worst case of having a kidney removed.
Doesn't say it could be relatively minor and just need 2 or 3 weeks to mend itself.
Article speculates that either Hastings or Gamble will replace him next week.

He would have missed the Raiders anyway so time to be assessed and if Gamble is back he can fill in until he is fully recovered, hoping full recovery is first and only option.
