Quality line up its a shame never seen the best of them.
Imagine them under a Bellamy,Robinson, type of coach.

I always thought Constantine Mika was a talented player but i think effort and fitness were his problems.
 
It is definitely a sad team list when you consider the reach we have with our juniors. Of course the ones that stayed are probably the best ones, but given how many juniors are in the area, we should be letting go of a bunch of talent too. And the talent we did keep hasn't exactly been too successful either. Wonder where we're getting it wrong.
 
Pretty sure Fermor was wanted, he was released on compassionate grounds (a sick parent in SE Queensland or something). Either way I’m actually not fussed on that one as I think he’s a bit of a one-way player. Cats it often in defence. Although that may be Titans culture infecting him.
 
Zac Hosking will be very hard to drop when Brisbane are back to full strength.
He topped the tackle count with way better tackle efficency than anyone else, second highest for run metres in the forwards and topped the fantasy points with 71 - 18 better than Adam Reynolds.
If the Broncs do drop him, we should make him an offer and put him into fulltime training with us next year.
 
Here's the thing with Zac Hosking. And I temper this to say that lower grades have had a very disrupted couple of years with Covid. But Zac has had the reputation of someone who will tackle anything that moves and work his butt off for a few years. During that time our first choice left second rower has clearly had defensive issues that the coach doesn't like and other teams will openly target, mainly around effort on effort, or lack thereof. And there is a guy in reggies who could rectify that. In the old days, you'd watch this play out and the guy would end up in the top grade.

Obi said when he got here if he had two guys pushing for selection he'd go the better defender. So what credence is put on reggies performances now? Do the rules stop these pathways? Here's a guy who could have made a real difference to our defence who has walked through lack of opportunity. He has shown he is more than up to first grade in his first two weeks there. Is Luke Huth closer to first grade or walking? His efforts should be elevating his stocks within the club. But the fact that Brailey was out and he never got a look in makes it look like he should go elsewhere.

Zac Hosking would be a player Craig Bellamy would love. I'd have hoped Obi loved this kind of player too, but he never had a pathway, never got a look in.
 
The Cowboys have signed former Knights and Broncos outside back Gehamat Shibasaki to boost their backline depth for the run to the finals.

With injuries starting to hit the club, the Cowboys zoomed in on Shibasaki, who played the last two seasons in Newcastle before a brief move to Japanese rugby.

The 24-year-old will start playing with the Cowboys' feeder club in the Queensland Cup, the Blackhawks, but is expected to get a few runs in the top grade before the finals.

If he gets a run with the cowboys and kills it, I'll lose the will to live
 
Shiba has a good game about once every 5 games.
He also has an absolute shocker about once every 5 games.
You never know which Shiba will get off the bus.
