Dom Young Roosters player swap

Exactly Dom was always destined to succeed he is an athlete and physical specimen he developed him self if anything being at the knights was a hindrance to his development

I have been very disappointed with Best's progress , not say it is all his fault . But in a team that plays expansive footy with a five eighth that can put him into space ( hopefully Ponga) might be different . Is hard to excel under our game plan/ coaching . Dom was an exemption

Telegraph now saying it's Egan Butcher & Siua Wong that the Knights have interest in. Also says Penrith may be interested in Dom for the season but seems more speculation than actual reporting.

I dunno mate, you’ll have to ask the Broncos why a $500K transfer fee was enough to persuade them to release a player to the Dogs, just three weeks ago.
the Broncos issue was totally different. The player involved refused to train, turn up or have anything to do with the Broncos because they apparently made promises to him that they apparently didn't adhere to. So the Broncos decided to get something out of the situation

Just laughable anybody thinks we developed Dom Young, he came here ready to roll, didnt get a pre season and hit by injury.

He was always going to be a star in the NRL, I had no doubt.

And someone took offence to a comment about developing juniors? Because clearly you can see our squad brimming with quality junior talent.
It's quite interesting to look back on this thread and see just how Young was thought of before we signed him. I think he developed a long way with us, we forget how he was when he first got here. Not saying it was all us, but it seems like a lot had him being on the outer in the UK before we gave him a chance.

I don't hold the same opinion.

Look back at my comments about him coming here.

I don't think he even had a bad first year with us considering.

I always thought his second year would be much improved and it was. He is simply an athlete with good skills.

I called him a centre very early on and the Roosters seem to agree.

I don't attribute any of his progress to the knights, just natural development from playing NRL.

The biggest improvement in Young is fitness.
In his first few games he was done for the game after 3 or 4 runs, and just hung on for the rest of the game. He also had a massive error rate due to being spent and unable to keep up.
The fitter he gets, the better he gets. Which is why I'm a bit worried about him for round one. Lot's of mentions in articles that he hasn't had as good a pre-season as others and is a bit underdone. Maybe 2 extra weeks will get him back to his best.

Plenty of athletic gifted specimens over the years that never made it.
Knights have done plenty wrong in the last 20 years but credit to us for first bringing him over all the way from England and secondly developing him into an international despite him have hands for feet when he first played yet we still stuck by him.

Not wrong, I find it hilarious the outbursts on here but have very short memories with paying way over the odds for a two game rookie when the shoe is on the other foot.

I think the outbursts probably are more to do with the fact he's signed with the roosters who have unlimited cap space.

I for one couldn't care less and really am over the Dom young talk.....would love for him to be shipped off early.

Let's face it the knights are probably picking up the spoon.

I’m sure Peter Parr would have enjoyed telling the Rorters we would not release Dom unless they gave us a good player in exchange.

Angus Crichton has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

Manu, Keary, JWH, Smith, Tupouniua and Watson are also injured and Walker has recently had COVID.

I don’t feel sorry for them at all!

So they could definitely do with an extra player.

It's funny how Penrith are now wanting Dom for this season.....who can we cherry pick from them that will help us
