Dom Young discussion

I get the vibe after watching that interview he's a bit like Suaalii and likes a different challenge. Reckon he will leave the Roosters for England in the 2027 Rugby World Cup.
 
Just read on zerotackle the rorters have signed Dom's brother Alex to a development contract.

I guess that was a sweetner to get Dom over the line well that and the brown paper bags.
 
Waste of a top 30 spot for them. Doms brother plays second div in England and hasn’t even scored 10 tries after playing roughly 50 games as a winger….!!!

Can’t even crack a super league side!
 
Dom took to NRL level training like a duck to water.
His brother has been a Uni student playing park footy and barely training.
The only guy I can think of coming from a similar low base is George Carmont.
I took him about 3 years to really get to a good level, but he went on to have a pretty good career in the end.
And George wasn't 6'6" with the same genetics as Dom Young.

Billy youre overthinking this mate, Alex is 2-3 years older then Dom and is 10 times greener then dom was when he came over. You clutching at straws thinking he has a chance of coming good

You can debut at any age if your good enough. Elite training can either kill you or make you. I think your overthinking it tbh
 
Apparently he was offered contracts from a few super league teams after the world cup but knocked them back to focus on completing his law degree.

Dom wasn't exactly highly rated when we signed him either.

Can people mind their language a bit please? Remember there are people of all ages looking at the forum. The language filters are there for a reason, not for you to put another letter in to get around them.

To say Bennett underachieved with the Broncos, he got six premierships in 15 years between 92 and 06 that's pretty damn good. Not forgetting he also set the entire club up from scratch.

Again, ALL with good or great players.
 
Bellamy and Bennett are the two standouts among coaches I’ve seen and they’re at that level I kind of see as, they’re both pretty unimpeachable, it just comes down to what you place more value on. They both have strengths and weaknesses, but other coaches don’t have comparable strengths.

Bellamy gets a level of consistency out of his players which arguably shouldn’t even be possible given how physical of a sport it is.

Bennett gets guys ready to run through a brick wall for him.

If I was looking for a coach to lead the NRL all stars vs the space aliens in a one off match, I’d go Bennett, but if I had to enter a space alien rugby league comp and finish at the top of the table after a 24 game home and away season, give me Bellyache.
 
I would have had Robbo up there with them, but he’s accrued some big black marks for a coach who’s won as much as he has. I’m now leaning towards Cleary being better than him. I believe Cleary as head coach gets the 2013 and 2018/19 premierships. I can’t see Robbo almost getting the Tigers into the top 8.
