Connor Watson signs with the Roosters

So just heard that the real reason he went to the roosters was robbo promised to help develop him at being the best 14 he can be to be selected for origin.

All ik going to say is, pretty dumb move by Connor...as I said before glad we didn't pay overs

How we let him go and resign Mann. Dont tell me we signed Mann as depth cause we got depth players.
Good signing for Roosters for sure
He been our most consistent player this year.
Making alot of tackles and still great in attack.

He can hold his own at lock lol
He making lock his spot i thought and there massive over payed players on more do nothing in NRL. Not like we offering millions.
Lets see Hunt, DCE, Milford, Norman, Homes, Bird, Taylor, and ill take Watson over all those guys
You’d take Watson over Ben Hunt or DCE?

I agree, I liked him at lock and thought he was doing ok. But if (*IF*) the reports are true that we offered him more money and a longer contract than Roosters, then offering him more money and not re-signing Kurt Mann wouldn’t have made much difference.

We’ll probably never know but I’m preparing for the rumours of unhappy players, and signing Corey Norman ;)
Corey Norman = 🤮 🤮 🤮 🤮 🤮 🤮 🤮 🤮 🤮 🤮

Agree with a lot of of others above. Good little goer, great clubman etc. I like Connor and hoped that he would stay. We made a reasonable offer, and he chose to go another way - good luck to him. He's a great 14 but that's his spot. Nothing wrong with that, but we need to put a price on that role within our cap, which it seems we have. I'm actually glad to see us finally putting the Michael Hagan contract days behind us.

I don’t get some fan backlash on this. Watson is a handy player but 300-350k is what any team with top four ambitions should be paying him.

If we honest Conor is about the sixth best forward at the club behind the safs, Klemmer, Frizzel and Barnett. This is the first year Watson has managed to get through so much footy too.

I think to be a contender we need a bigger body with some second phase in them at 13, with the rumours around Canberra I would have a go at Tapine.

I see the media are trying the Klemmer leaving the knights story again. What’s that about the tenth run this story has got since Klemmer signed.

Yeah Tapine can be a headache but his best is right up there.

Young Egan Butcher from the Roosters looks like a good prospect at lock, but we do have a few prospects already. Someone like Tapine would be great as a proven quantity.

I don't think it's because he thinks we won't win a premiership here. I think its purely money. Ie. The lower Roosters salary, plus the million dollar house for his mum that uncle Nick will throw in off the books.

He is just a dumb footballer. To be fair he does some pretty good things at times.

But if there was a player to trip over his own feet and knock it on before the try line it would be him.
Aka doing a Neville Costigan

And here comes the hacks.

Just lol, where we went wrong was we underarmed Watson who should be on twice as much next year, Watson was so unhappy he went to the Roosters for less money. Hooper has no idea.

Watson has two good years at the Chooks and some team will try and buy their way out of trouble and throw good money at him again. Like we did.
