Brock Lamb set to leave the Knights

Yes, Wyong is the feeder club for Roosters so might see him playing for the Roos most of the year. Feeling a million miles away from the NRL.
 
Brock was unhappy here? Not as unhappy as Brown, his team mates and the fans where.

Brown bent over backwards to accommodate him, even giving him a roving role of the bench where he just had to pick his spots and run the ball, instead he had a sook and didn't have a go and in the process gave himself a 150% pay cut. Imagine if he had Yates mentality? He would have been off somewhere for $300-$400k a year if he kept his head down and kept working.

And yes I've heard how his been good the last MONTH.

Lets hope his a future lesson to other juniors and players here that your spot is NEVER guaranteed anymore.

Lamb was squeezed out, as many others have been.
When Brown decides you aren't in his good books, you are getting squeezed out.
He has been through something like 70 players in 3 years, and the merry go ride is not going to slow down next year with something like 15 positions still to be filled for next year.
The club makes disingenuous statements about wanting guys to stick around, while not picking them and making them no offer or insulting offers.
Levi, Ross, Yates and Watson are being backed out the door as we speak - to join the long, long list.
 
Lamb rejected a good offer from the Club and has (apparently) decided to instead accept a deal with the Roosters. He wasn’t pushed out. He was given plenty of opportunity to prove his worth.

The Roosters are a good spot for Lamb. Good system and good coaches. I doubt he’ll crack firsts though barring injury. For us, we’ve upgraded massively with the addition of Pearce.

Billy with the greatest respect I couldn't disagree more.

Lamb was not squeezed out Lamb did not perform, Brown did his best to fit him in the top 17 and give him a very simple bench role and he had a sulk or was not good enough. If being squeezed out means cutting underperforming players than beautiful.

Levi is out starting hooker at the moment and when slade was fit getting good minutes off the bench, and when asked for a release was refused point blank.

Ross is another self entitled one, who had a sulk at being outside Moga and went out of his way to make him look bad by never being in position for offloads like any NSW cup standard winger would be, before even if he lacked the talent he didn't lack the effort which he does now since somebody mistakenly told him he was funny. - Sorry mate Beau Ryan you are not.

Yates is too small for a forward, pretty simple. Shame guys got the heart of a lion.

I have zero idea by what stretch of logic Watson is being pushed out. Watson will be our 6 next year and Ponga our 1 with his role as another kicking option in attack and secondary playmaker.

His been through 70 players? It isn't more after 3 spoon's and our cap situation we needed a broom.

I can't think of one player we've let go that I am sad about.

I’m not vilifying him by any means. I think Lamb has a lot of potential but needs an attitude change. I think things might be different without his manager filling him with ideas about how he should be a definite starter.

I hope he does well wherever he goes (or if he stays), but he cannot say he hasn’t been given every chance here. If he has a better opportunity elsewhere, then good luck to him.
 
How is Watson being squeezed out? A rumour about us signing some Pommie nuffy that has no legs at all?

Levi isn’t going anywhere either with Griffin being out long term.

Billy, how many/who of the guys that have been "squeezed" out would you have liked to have kept? Out of interest what would your top 17 look like if you were in charge?

Dude I am only playing what's in front of me. Lamb has been poor, Yates is small and Ross has had poor form and a crap attitude.

I wish it wasn't the case, I'd love to have gun players all over the squad fighting for spots.
 
IMO Lamb looked like a deer in the headlights in some games this season he had no idea what to do next he didn't do himself any favours . The kid has talent though and will do well at the chookies .
Levi was just resigned don't see how he was being pushed out especially when he was told he wouldn't be released , he is in the same boat as Lamb really we ended up buying someone better for that position , the difference with Levi is he hasn't gone backwards like Lamb Griffin was just a bit better than him that's all .
Yates in Daniels body would be the best prop in the world but as it is Yates is just too small and that will cruel his nrl ambitions I think although I hope not ..
I think the coach likes what he see's from Watson , I do and I don't think he wants to get rid of him at all and he said it was rubbish .
Would'nt it be said that every player dropped or gotten rid of or not picked by any coach wouldn't be in the coaches good books .
 
Brown and Mooney were brought in to clean up our salary cap situation and move us up the ladder. You don't do that by keeping the same players who won those previous spoons.

We have churned through some players and have a team now that can be a genuine finals chance, would have been in the finals this year if we didn't get crippled by injury to key positions most of the year.

Levi isn't being moved on, though I don't agree with Lord saying he got good bench minutes when Slade was first choice as he wasn't even selected most games with Brown going for Buhrer on the bench.

Watson not being moved on either, I haven't see any real evidence the Knights are looking to replace him at 5/8, the only real option is Ponga to 5/8 and Watson to FB, or bench utility. Ross isn't being backed out the door though he may find it more difficult to secure his spot next year, and Yates is unfortunately too small for his position.

Debatable if Griffin is better than Levi. Levi in my opinion gets us on the front foot better, is better at dumi half scoots and gives faster service from the ruck.

I like Levi but lets be fair dinkum Griffin came here showed his class and took Levi's starting position straight away and if he didn't get injured Griffin would have been starting hooker all season and rightly so .
Griffin also took his Kiwi spot so so far all the people that matter (coaches , NRL , international ) have picked Griffin because he is better than Levi .

Your welcome to your opinion.

My take on it is Brown got a hard on for Griffin from the outset and Levi did something to get in Browns bad books so missed out. Was clear from the Maitland trial leading up to that the talk with both would get a fair shot at it, and he plays that trial with Griffin at hooker for about 70 minutes with Levi getting a shot at the death after the game was done. Most on here expected them to share the role also. That was the turning point and from then on Levi didn't get a look in.

You don't take a current international rep hooker and chuck em in reserves with next to no consideration to play firsts which is exactly what Brown did. More to this than just a fair battle for position. Sure Griffin took his NZ jumper how was Levi going to retain it from reserve grade.

I stand by what I said prior in another thread, if Levi and griffin both got a fair shot Levi would be the one getting selected for NZ. He is quicker out of dummy half both with his service and his dummy half running. He is sharper at judging when to run for easy meters. He gets the team on the front foot with his dummy half play taking a few meter steps before passing the ball to the ball runner closer to the line giving the D less time.

Griffin is a reliable hooker at passing the ball from dummy half, and a bit better defender. Thats it.
