If he leaves Newy, it'd be one of the more inexplicable and disappointing things we've seen from a prized clubman and junior. The simplest explanation is that he feels the club low-balled him, I guess. But at what point does he admit to himself that he only plays half the regular season.

Disappointing from Bradman. It was good enough for everyone else. JSaf is at the peak of his powers at 29 and wasnt making 700k p.a. from about his teenage years onwards and yet, JSaf will make the sacrifice so willingly?

Eh, I don't know his missus from Adam. Let's see he gets offered $800K tax free, that's like getting offered about $1.2-1.3 mil by an Australian club? It's not easy to say no to, that's why I was so shocked Lucas locked in with us. Maybe the peer pressure will get to him though, who knows.

Sully would very much be arguing the point about the injuries Best has had when it comes to the offer. It could be the length of the deal which is the sticking point. It could also be because the likes of Bostock and Farnworth are going to market on Nov 1 it seems. So Best can't demand dollars based on lack of marquee centres running around.

We might have to brace for this one. POS is already on record saying Braddy will have to take a haircut to stay. He said on SEN yesterday that we will lose blokes. He's getting so many calls right we'd have to trust him here too. Spending the cap where it needs to be spent is his job.
 
If we lose Braddy I will be devastated. He is easily in the top 5 even top 3 centres in the game. I think most clubs would offer him 800K.

Maybe it’s like the Roosters/Walker situation first offer might not always stick, but after some negotiations come to an agreement. Hopefully Braddy and club can meet somewhere in the middle.

We also have Dom’s contract lingering also. POS is obviously a shred operator. But I had feeling we could lose quality with both Brown and Ponga on large contracts. I guess Ponga must have taken a bit of a haircut also?
 
2020: 11 out of 21 games
2021: 17 out of 25 games
2022: 14 out of 24 games
2023: 25 out of 26 games
2024: 17 out of 25 games
2025: 18 out of 24 games
2026: 12 out of 21 games

Overall 114 out of 166 games played since permanently breaking into first grade. 31.3% missed. I don't hold injuries against any player, but it would be disappointing if he left given all that, and just as we're becoming a force.

When fit, Latrell is the best centre in the game by an almost comical amount. Take a big sip of water and look how many tries + try assists he has in his 9 games this year.

That "when fit" is a sticking point. Herbie Farnworth is the most valuable centre because he rarely misses games, he's a much better workhorse than everyone who's better in attack, and vice versa, a lot more dangerous in attack than the other great workhorses.

Bradman's almost the exact middle ground between those two, better ball skills/decision making than Herbie but not as good working the ball out of trouble, not the same level of nightmare for defenders that big Trell is, plays an amount of games that's almost exactly in the middle between Latrell and Herbie lol.

To me those are the best three centres in the game right now. Would go Tolu Koula and Casey McLean to round out the top 5. I don't think either of them defend as well as Braddy & Herbie but they're very dangerous.

Really sad that you cannot keep everyone, and as much as Braddy is unstoppable when on the field how many games are we getting per year?

1000% first 12 months will be interesting, imagine being surrounded by the same 50 odd people month on month, the amount of feuds(at the least that will develop) will be crazy.
 
Yeah and as good as Braddy is, Brisbane lost the grand final with Herbie in the team and won the premiership replacing him with Gehamat Shibasaki on a train & trial deal.

The Panthers won the comp again after letting Stephen Crichton walk.

The Storm salary cap model has always had a hard, hard limit on outside back salaries, and they have turned over that three quarter line repeatedly & made another two grand finals this decade.

The Roosters could not get over the hump with their $2.5 million dollar+ Tupou/Suuallii/Manu/Young backline, but I think they're gonna win the comp this year dropping about $1.8 million on Toops/Smith/Toia/Marky Mark, after spending the cap space they freed up to get Reece Robson to stiffen up their middle D, add Cherry-Evans, secure their best young forwards on big money extensions, etc.

Different teams have different game models, but as a general rule, what makes you a good team is a strong spine and a strong middle. Your wider players are the icing on the cake, and you pick which ones to keep based on factors like the salary they're willing to accept, how they impact team culture, and what sort of championship qualities they bring.

For those who don’t know, Bradman is married to Jeff Fenech’s daughter Kayla and they have a baby girl.

I don’t think Kayla would be happy living in a compound thousands of kilometres away from her family.

I thought every player was aware of it, I mean we got taught to always try to get closer to the post if we could even though we had a great goal kicker, just makes things easier and the kicker loves you for it.
