Biggest disappointments (players)

This moment always summed up Richie Fa'aoso to me, made the error to blow a try with the line wide open, but came back a few moments later with a run that nobody would ever have been able to stop to tie the match up.

This is the first game of rugby league I can actually remember watching. I was 11. Scotty Dureau field goal still burned in my memory like it was yesterday.

He signed with the club but didn’t get registered but I wish we got to see arana taumata would’ve been in 2008. Currently sitting in Kempsey jail such a waste of talent

I don't know if we were ever seriously going to get him but do remember at the time there was definitely interest

He had agreed to a two year deal and then the club became aware of his off field stuff at the dogs and pulled the deal.

For me it’s definitely Mullo. If we’re being honest a lot of our juniors were overhyped within the supporter base so they naturally disappointed when they hit FG.

Mullo genuinely had all the talent in the world though. We saw it in FG, just never consistently. There was always something holding him back and mentally effecting him. He should have been a world class 6, but we decided to play him 7 when Johns retired which started all the “next Joey” ********. It was all downhill from then sadly, before his career even started.

That’s a big call. I’d love Mullen now! For me he’s comfortably our best half since Joey, and was consistently in our top two or three players every season he was with us. His long kicking game was always one of the best in the competition. Deserved more games for NSW as well. Really happy to see him back involved in Old Boy’s Day etc now.

That’s what I mean - I reckon he was extremely talented. Just never hit the heights I think he was capable of or performed consistently. Injuries didn’t help there though either.

He also went through six different coaching regimes in his 11 years of first grade which wouldn’t have helped. If he’d spent his entire career at the Storm he’d probably be talked about as one of the ATGs, I reckon.

I do think he was pretty consistent though!

Unfortunately his hamstrings were no good.
Saw him rip one off the bone in a pre season game, took the season to get it right, until next one went….
