Andrew Johns sacked from Knights in 2011

You make a few good points there mate, but I wouldn't put the blame on Joey for Dureau and Rogers poor form. Both of them were always going to be hot and cold regardless of whether Johns had been training them.

As for worst half in the league, I wouldn't say Scotty was the worst, I rate him ahead of Tim Smith. Scotty at least has a great long kicking game, Smith had the best pack in the competition in front of him and also the SOO five eighth and captain beside him directing and he couldn't capatilise.

id take tim smith in a heartbeat, its not great if it doesnt land in the field...as for joey maybe it was the ongoing poor off field image as well... not sure joey has the best social reputation and even though his job was professional is he guy you want your longterm halfback hanging around and learning from?? just another angle...

The whole thing looks to me like a situation that happens to every association between club and former player.

Personally I think that it is just business on both sides and the media has blown it out of all proportion...........

Wow, I can't believe this. Especially with Henry coming into the top grade, it was to be expected that Joey would nurture him. The club should be ashamed of this...

You got that right mate taking a punt on henry and then gettin rid of johns its quite clear the club needs to go through management and start sheding some dead wood bring on tinkler the club needs a new direction

I don't think Johns should of asked for more money, as James said, we don't know how much he was getting paid, but surely he has built up enough money from being the worlds greatest player for years to be working on low income, considering he also did commentating, and working with other teams.

Also disappointing that we have let him go, considering what he brings to Newcastle, and what he means to us.

As for the coaching, I see him more of a coach who tells the halves how to play, instead of letting them play their own game, let them play the way they want, and give them tips to improve it.
