Adam O'Brien replacement?

Why can’t a rookie coach turn us into a better team? AOB mightn't have, but Fitzgibbon or Payten might have.
For all we know Ciraldo could be the next Bellamy… or he could be the next Brown too.
I’d be interested in giving him a couple of years to see, I’ve supported a ****house team long enough for it not to bother me if it doesn’t well, but you never know if you don’t try.
I’d be willing to give Steady Eddy a go at the moment, nothing else seems to be working

Can only imagine because of his Sharks/ supplements scandal and the fact he would probably bring his son along as part of the deal. I know we currently are a bit thin in the halves, but Kyle Flanagan is definitely not the answer to that problem.

Michael Maguire is now available for ‘23. If we don’t snap him up someone else will- probably Phil Gould.

I dont know about Maguire , how many times has he been sacked now 2 or 3 for doing a crap job as coach . Better off with AOB imo and NO to Flanagan the guy is a straight up cheat that imo didn't give a crap about his players welfare ...
Win at all costs no matter what it takes if we have to cheat we will , i personally don't want that kind of coach here ...

I do agree with this , but it’s really only the top 3 coaches ( Bellamy, Robinson and Bennett) who rarely change clubs and are masters of their own destinies by being successful and having a good track record. Everyone else is either an ex premiership winner or experienced first grade coach, or a relative rookie and they’ve all been sacked, quit or been asked to leave from at least one club, or been an assistant somewhere and moved on for a top job. These guys are part of the coaching merry go round, and every now and then the combination of coach , playing group, and front office will click and success follows. Maguire at South’s, Flanagan at Sharks, Green at Cowboys, Sticky at Roosters are all examples of that. It’s so hard to predict when that connection will happen , but I think Maguire is a coach that could bring some steel to the Knights, and he’s probably the best unemployed coach available right now.

Give Bellamy, Bennet or Robinson to the tigers and see how good they are.

How many games in Bellamy's whole coaching career would the team not have been favourites to win.

Not hard to be a great coach with 3 near iimmortals in your team.
 
Bellamy biggest cheating piece of xxxx coach ever i personally don't want him here , i hate that cheating axxxxxxe.
Robinson on the other hand i would take in a second ..
 
Ahhh, Bellamy. For all the stink around him, the ultimate pin up boy for stability. Drop him in to the tigers set up and I'd say it would take him 5 years to get them to the finals, then they'd pretty much be perennial finalists after that. But, reputation aside, he wouldn't get the chance because he would have been sacked by then.

He didn't walk in to a set up with three immortals there. He created an environment, and was backed by management to do so, which great players emerged from. Imagine for a second that Super League hadn't happened and Melbourne hadn't been born out of it folding. Where would Cameron Smith have ended up once the Broncos cut him? I'd doubt we'd have heard of him now to be honest. Billy Slater had already been told he was too small. Where was he going to make it? But at Melbourne, under Bellamy, they became world class. They were given a system that let them shine.

How many guys have gone in to that system over the years and have looked like better players? Have Josh King and Nick Meaney had better years then the ones they are having now? Conversely, how many guys have come out of it, usually on massive money, and played to the same level?
 
Don't get me wrong either Ethan, i get a bit queasy looking at the guy because of all the low stuff they have bought in to the game. The arguement still going around that they were treated too harshly over the salary cap rorts does my head in.

The positives I see though are that he has a clear plan which he articulates very well to his players. He chooses the players to carry out that plan and he is fiercely loyal to them once he trusts them.

The counter method to that is Browny's. He'll have a clear plan for three weeks, get beaten a couple of times and go, well that didn't work, let's try this!!?
 
As much as it hurts to say, if we do replace him who the **** would sign with us , we have no chance at ciraldo and the other options I can’t see anyone signing up to be part of another half arsed rebuild.

Shaun Wane or a more realistic option Is Shane Flanagan.
