Being based in Australia no doubt hasn’t help, but it’s actually impressive what he’s done to that club. They really looked the goods under Payten, and at least always competed under Kearney before that … now they are probably at their all-time rock bottom in 27 years. And that includes multiple ownership changes for the club and then all but being shut down in 2000.

Feels like the fabric of the Warriors has been totally destroyed.

Owner and head of football have no idea and aren’t helping either.
 
I go back to Ben Darwin's podcast, he focussed a bit on Nathan Brown. His statement was that Brown had never under performed given the teams he's had, but that he had never built a stable enough team to be successful. The statistic was that the Melbourne Storm team that played ten weeks in to their first season was more stable than any team that Nathan Brown has EVER coached. Churning through hookers like he does would just be the start of that issue.

He has been offered way more money, why stay? I think he knew he was going into a basket case of a team but I don't think that matters when you're offered the last substantial pay packet of your career.
 
I would like to see Maguire work with the Knights. Taking on the Tigers job is a poison chalice and I really think it would take a coach of Bellamy or Robinsons class to turn them around. He came off looking like a bit of a goose in that doco last year but I think he could help AOB as he’s got a lot of head coaching experience as well as ingrain a bit of toughness in our team that we lack.

I still don’t really get Darwin’s logic when he says Browny has “never underperformed”. If his teams are characterised by a lack of stability which can be strongly attributed to unforced positional chopping & changing + unnecessary roster churn (often caused by toxic player/coach relationships)… doesn’t it follow that he’s underperforming? His KPIs as head coach is to get his players playing for him, and to work out who’s in his best 17 and set those players up to succeed, and he has always performed below standard in those regards.

How he got the Warriors gig is one of life's great mysteries.
He came to us with great results in England, but how the Warriors picked him after the dumpster fire he presided over at the Knights makes me think whoever picked him doesn't even watch footy.

Nathan Brown quitting coaching reminds me of a scene I saw in a movie once - a guy said he was giving up on women, and his "friend" replied "only 5 years after they gave up on you".
 
Brown was good for us for his time here and he got us moving in the right direction, replaced by OB at the right time for OB to continue the work.

Whether that has panned out remains to be seen I guess. But Brown did have a positive impact here.

Also i heard Brett Kimmorley is going to take over at the Warriors temporarily.
