Adam O'Brien replacement?

We either have a decent squad or we don't. And if he we have a decent squad then we should blame the coach for performance failures. If we don't have a decent squad and the coach has had 3 years to build a decent squad then we should also blame the coach.

The nuance as I can see it is that we do have a decent squad. The coach has many good qualities but cannot coach offence to save his career. And no matter which players he brings in, somehow, the attack never improves. And the problem we're having is that the boys have so little faith in our ability to score points that we're inclined to be disheartened by small things like conceding a try or a bad call etc. And so our good defence never lasts, because effort requires faith and we're just not dumb enough to believe we can defend our way to 30 points a game

It is the coach. He has to go. We either sign a top flight 7 right now or we change coaches, there are NO other options
 
Said it before. Coach isn't going anywhere, not this season.

And he shouldn't be. He has brought us to 2 finals series.

We have had a crap start to the year, horrible run of injuries and came up against a tough draw.

Let's see how this season pans out and where we land in the finish, then see how we are travelling this time next year. By this time next year if we are still in the same as now, then, there will e true pressure on his position.
 
We got absolutely pumped both finals series. We were way out of our depth. Yes, we clinched 8th. But our performance capacity has been indispensable from the few clubs below us, but we've been well behind the few clubs just ahead of us.

How that can be viewed as pass mark speaks to the loser mentality that pervades the club and its fans imo. Absolutely ridiculous that we aren't looking for something better. We should always be looking for something better. It's the only reason the top clubs are so successful--they don't cop mediocrity.
 
I think OBi should get the rest of this season and next season then if we haven't improved then talk about who to bring in ... OBi has had to rebuild the roster and except for a half he has done well imo ... He has had terrible injuries to contend with and covid all we need is a good half and imo we will be laughing .
Don't forget we pretty much had Brooks till it went pear shaped and left us without a decent 1st grade half ..
Gotta say im a bit insulted with the (Club and fans have loser mentality) Personally i think thats a load of **** and rubbish talk .
 
clune was never bought to be our 7. essentially we have played the whole season without a 7 and 9 ontop of the worst injury toll in the NRL. look what missing the 7 and 1 has done to a great club like melbourne this last 2 weeks. the clubs not going as bad as it looks.

Good to see a few members understand the situation for what it is, throw in the Ponga contract distraction as well and the media's carry on, it's been a horrific year all round.

To all the doom gloomers yes this season is a right off but with a decent signing in the halves we will be fine next year injuries permitting.

Be unpopular but I'd be tempted to move Frizzell on next year on top of Pearces money we should be able to bring in a decent six and seven hopefully.

My memory may be failing me, but I thought we gave Parramatta a good fright, and fight, in last year's semis

And compare the cows draw to ours. Give them our draw and injury toll and see how they are going.

The cows great form is a myth, they will get found out later in the year I expect.

And on those top few clubs not accepting mediocrity, how long have the coaches at those clubs been there?

Sharks have picked up a few injuries and the wheels have fallen off a bit. Moved Hynes to FB 2 weeks ago and they looked terrible. Amazing what some direction from a half can do.

Knights had the easiest draw last year and never tore it up like the Cowboys have done with their so called ‘easy‘ draw this year. Finished the year with a minus 143 in points differential. Injuries or not people need to realise AOB isn’t that guy. Payten has already got my mob well and truely ahead of you guys in 15 months which is astonishing considering where we were when he took over.

We had heaps of injuries last year as well.. cowboys first injuries of the year happened last week… feldt and lolo
