This is my only concern. AOB reached out to McDermott, he signals out his assistants.

So it paints the picture of either it was a head coach scout meeting. Or as some have said maybe another role within club (pathways)

Why wouldn't he take a 12month extension? He won't get a head coach job anywhere else

If I were O'Brien i'd be talking to other clubs while the team is looking good.
If he could get a 3 year deal at any of the basket case sides on the strength of turning the Knights around, that would be a sweet deal for him.
 
his contracted for next year, what clubs are seriously going to take a coach of AOBs standing for 2025 and beyond this far out?
its pretty funny the majority of the supporter base has gone from death riding him to blowing up deluxe at the thought of getting rid of him in the space of 4 weeks.

Yes & I was one of them . I think Obi has handled the personal pressure pretty good . I don't think we have played this good since he has been here. Our performance over the last four weeks seem to coincide with a change of game plan . Definitely through a lot more attack at the opposition. Still not totally convinced it's all on Obi . Read somewhere the attacking structures have mainly been set by Green, Hastings & Ponga.

Why hasn’t buzz the useless old alcoholic been kicked out yet? Oh wait, because the Murdoch media doesn’t care for standards or facts.

It’s funny how the Knights scrapped letting the media in so as not to distract the players with gutter journalism and all it’s done is ramp it up by making them public enemy number 1. Absolute parasites.
 
I would say the meeting with Holbrook was organised before we went on our winning streak… back when Gardner was overseas.

I don't think I went too hard on him, although if you go back and search my posts I probably did lol ... but we have looked a lot better throughout the year, I reckon. Effort has been there the whole time, he had to deal with Ponga's sketchy start to the season and Brailey being gone, we haven't really had any huge blow outs ... a bit more experience in tight games and we could be a fair bit up the ladder.

And I think we need to take into account he lost his Mum mid-season and that can't have been easy.

I'm more than happy to keep him on.

Totally, it's what happened with Brian Smith - we only offered him a one year extension, he saw it as a vote of no confidence and the Roosters came in with a multi-season deal.

Actually I think it was a very similar story with Ivan Cleary at the Warriors in one of the greatest rugby league blunders in the history of the game (given they'd have also had Nathan if he'd stayed).

But I do sympathise with the Knights, I want to see the improvement continue next year before committing to more years.

Maybe we could offer him 2025 now with some options around that extending if he starts 2024 well.
 
Don't really have a problem with cutting Moses clients. The same Journos trying to make a big deal out of it we're into Manly & Seibold a couple of weeks ago for having too many Moses clients 🙄
