I find that difficult to believe.
They were saying Green was looking at leaving but will now be staying since AOB is safe ... the implication being that a new coach usually wants to bring in his own assistants, and why stick around if your job isn't safe anyway.
But now it's looking like AOB isn't safe, so Green might decide to go after all.
