Adam O'Brien replacement?

I’ve been an advocate for punting AOB, but fair dinkum, for Holbrook? That will ****ing do me. Who’s running the show here? There were a couple of good coaches available when times were at their worst and those in charge sat on their hands. Now players are responding, we’re meeting up with a sacked coach of a failed club.
This club really is the gift that keeps on giving 🤦🏻‍♂️

100% would not be extending him just yet. I prefer to see how the team continues for the rest of the season, after which any extension would only be for 12 months. AOB has a long way too go just yet before he can feel remotely comfortable.

That's why they bought Parr in . So Buderus can learn off him .. Gardner can be king pin as long as he wants to, as long as Wests are concerned.
 
Holbrook wants to come home to the hunter. He enquired about a job and got an interview. I guess what the outcome was of that who knows. He could end up coaching local league yet.
 
Ive been a bit on and off the bandwagon for replacing AOB, but ffs not now!

He must have got on Gardners bad side.

Ive always thought the yardstick for a coach is given the squad and players available, are we performing at above, below or on par performance.

Ive thought the last two seasons were below par for our squad. But this season I think on par and he clearly has the squad playing well.

So, why now, are we interviewing replacement coaches. I get not wanting to renew him just yet, maybe tell him lets just wait for the off season, but actively recruiting his replacement, with the Knights 4 in a row and needing another 4 to hopefully scrape in to the 8 is practically sabotage.

This is what I agree with. He’s certainly not safe, but with no better options out there and the team finally responding, let him see what next season brings. Next year is make or break IMO
 
If Wests don't like the idea of paying a coach a big severance pay, they might not want to extend OB only to find they have to fire him next year.

OB probably isnt going to agree to a 1 year extension, so im reading the tea leaves here but maybe they have decided to go in another direction.
 
They've long said he's not gettng paid out so he's safe til 24. Naturally Moses looking to get him an extension for security sake, denied rightfully by club until end of yr goes and I'd imagine halfway through next yr.

Holbrook is local so maybe he reached out or Knights did due to speculation of Rory and Green looking elsewhere, but now Rory is staying put.

Right now its a heck ton of heresay until Parr comes out with a statement. Hopefully tomorrow, as I'm sure they are aware they have a footy team who is playing there best footy in years and are on the verge of a finals run (touchwood)

Holbrook isnt the answer the club is looking for. I think the answer is sitting in the chair and letting him continue the hot-streak. as Jamesgould said. Club needs stability.
If we had continued losing games and were well outside of contention then we'd probably welcome this. But fans and club can;t deny the quality of footy team is playing right now.

Well iirc someone had said either on this forum or reddit that Gardner is going retire either at the end of this year or the next.

a major contributing factor to the team not performing well is the lack of a recognized hooker for the majority of AOB tenure, but that falls on him. He should have had a contingency from the get go after Braileys first injury.

I'm really keen to see how the side goes with a stable spine and a hooker in particular to lay a platform.
 
blake green leaving isnt he? holbrook was a half, may be for an assistant/halves job? i doubt his recieved offers elsewhere and wants to return to newcastle.
